Stray Pittie Follows A Man Home And Stays There – Furever

No one likes to be followed, right?

That feeling of someone constantly behind you, creeping, and keeping their eyes on you is more than just unpleasant.

I wish none of us would experience that awful situation.

But, one stalking situation turned out to be pretty harmless. I’d sign up any day to be followed back home by our four-legged friends!

That’s what happened to one man in St. Louis. After getting off the bus and walking back home, he realized he was being followed by none other than a dog he just saw at the bus station!

Here’s the story of how Orville, the stray, walked into a man’s home and found himself a happy ending.

Sir, You’re Being Followed

Bus drives are annoying and the only thing good about them is getting off the bus. Immediately upon arriving at his local bus station, a man saw a dog sitting patiently there, as if he was waiting for someone. Little did he know, he really was!

The man greeted the dog, handed out a few pets and kind words, and went home without looking back.

But, soon enough, a tickling feeling in the back of his neck told him to turn around. Something was odd. He felt like someone was watching him!

The man saw the same dog he saw at the station, looking at him in his front yard. It suddenly became clear that the dog was following him the whole time!

Since the stray showed no signs of fear, the man approached him and invited him inside his yard. He looked like he might belong to someone, but he was clearly in bad shape. Nonetheless, the man phoned in and asked Stray Rescue of St. Louis for help.

When Donna and Natalie, from SRSL, arrived at the scene, they were prepared for an angry, afraid, and distrustful dog. They surely didn’t expect what they saw at the man’s house.

The stray greeted them with a huge smile like an old friend!

“He was an absolute sweetheart of a dog right off the bat,” Donna said. “We were able to leash him up right away, and he went right with us.”

The dog they named Orville turned out to be such a kind pup. He strove to get as much attention as he could. So, he just hopped into the SRSL Jeep and called shotgun!

“He rode up near Natalie and me most of the way back,” Lochmann said. “He was just a happy boy.”

The situation at the SRSL vet hospital was no different either! Orville was super happy to meet so many wonderful new people. The pup greeted everyone with a huge grin and approached them as if he knew everything was gonna be good from now on.

The vet staff helped Orville clean his wounds and set up a sweet new kennel where he could rest and recover from the street life.

All in all, Orville appeared to be a healthy three-year-old Pittie boy. There was no doubt that Orville would recover his lost pounds and boost his confidence at SRSL!

So, Where’s The Happy Ending?

When I say there’s a happy ending, there really is one!

Orville was rescued back in April 2023. His rehabilitation was smooth, and still no one really asked to adopt him. But, the staff at Stray Rescue of St.Louis didn’t lose their hope. They knew the pawfect family would come to ask about Orville.

And, the long-awaited miracle finally came!

Orville was adopted on June 10th! He spent almost two months at the shelter, waiting for a promised happy ending.

Orville was blessed with a new hooman mommy, daddy, and baby brother.

I’m pawsitive Orville would finally taste freedom and taste the sweet family life!
