A statue of a Pug that looks exactly like Maggie!
No one had the heart to tell this good girl that her feelings wouldn’t be reciprocated.
From the moment she laid eyes on a small garden statue of a Pug in her new home in Athens, Georgia, Maggie knew she had met someone special. But, she didn’t know that one day, she would end up brokenhearted.
Oscar Wilde once said: Hearts live by being wounded.
That’s exactly how Maggie lives – one day at a time, swallowing her pride, and returning to visit the statue that always gives her the cold shoulder.
Love Knows No Boundaries
She didn’t choose to feel that way. Cupid’s arrow just struck her one day and Maggie fell in love… crazy in love!
Kamerin Bazemore, Maggie’s owner and a realtor from Athens, Georgia, thought she’d find a deep connection with Merlin, her 14-year-old Pug, or Willow, the four-year-younger sister.
But, Maggie had other plans.
Sure enough, she loved having Merlin and Willow as siblings. Hanging out with them was always so fun. But, a girl needs a love interest.
Enter Maggie’s life: a Pug statue!
Ever since Maggie first noticed the statue laying in the garden, she knew someone special had entered her life. That spot in the garden where the laying Pug statue was placed became Maggie’s spot.
Whenever she needed a break from watching over her senior siblings, Maggie would sneak out and head over to her love interest.
This sweet girl even had to invite it to her birthday party!

Although everyone thought Maggie’s fixation with the beloved statue would wear off, it still didn’t happen.
“She’s nothing like Merlin or Willow,” Bazemore said. “She’s her own special dog, and every day I’m grateful she was placed into our lives.”

As time flew by, Maggie started feeling as if her emotions would never be returned by that statue. But, that’s okay. She still loves her special friend.
