A Blind Puppy Finds A Lifelong Friend In Her Playful Canine Companion

Admin

Guide dogs are truly precious in this world, as they are definitely the best friends of those people who can’t see and need help.

However, some dogs might need our help. Sara Elliot is one of those people who showed a big heart when she brought the blind rescue dog, Sherman, to take care of her.

But, she wasn’t sure how her other dog would react when she realized that Sherman is not like other dogs.

Fortunately, she was more than pleasantly surprised.

She brought Sherman home in June, and her other pup, named Wicket, impatiently waited. Although this one-and-a-half-year-old boxer was happy that she would finally have a companion to play with, Sarah was still suspicious.

That was until she witnessed the sweetest moment between the canine pair. She was so touched that she decided to record this scene and share it in the form of a TikTok Video.

Her followers were amazed and truly touched by the scene in which Sherman and Wicket are playing with a soft toy, and in which Wicket is so full of compassion towards her blind friend.

Namely, Wicket understood so well what was happening that she set the toy in front of Sherman for him to smell before each dog began tugging at it from respective sides.

“Wicket was being so patient with him, especially when Sherman lost his grip on the toy and Wicket waited for him to regain it,” Sarah recalls.

If this one little detail hasn’t melted your heart already, we really don’t know what will. Ah, if only people were like these two puppies, the world would certainly be a much better place.

A Big Happy Family Full Of Compassion

Elliot stated that Wicket was so full of compassion and understanding that she even persuaded Sherman to climb on the couch so they could play there.

That wasn’t without reason, as Sherman, who is almost 100 pounds, would bump into the walls and furniture, and eventually get hurt.

“It’s like she helped him,” Elliot says. “They changed their play to adapt to his disability, which truly brought tears to my eyes.”

But, this pair of amazing dogs are not the only members of the happy family. An older cat named Toby, and two kittens, Pork, and Beans, fit perfectly into this pet group.

They also don’t have problems with Sherman’s disability, but have patience and compassion towards him as well.

They all play whenever they can, and they frequently enjoy one another.

A Blind Dog Brought A Light To The House

The story that preceded this touching event is also heartwarming. Namely, Elliot had a 9-year-old dog named Luna who died earlier this year after being diagnosed with cancer. Wicket had grown up with Luna and had never been alone before.

Because of that loss, she suffered from mild anxiety and desperately needed a friend that would brighten up her sad days.

Sherman was the ideal friend who he could take care of and, at the same time, share love with.

“They seem so close,” Sarah added. “They cuddle, they play together all the time. They’re so comfortable together. They have their little routine. It’s really special. I think they mesh really well.”

This story is a true example of how differences can sometimes exist and create special moments.
