A Very Unusual Accident
When the workers from Riverside County Department of Animal Services, in California, received a call about a dog who got his head stuck inside a car tire, they didn’t quite know what to expect.
They managed to arrive quickly, and they were stumped when they saw the poor animal there. Their first thought for getting her out was to use oil to maybe help her slip back through the tire.
However, that didn’t work, and the dog continuously tried to bite the people who wanted to help her.
They didn’t want her to feel any pain by trying something new right there and then, so they decided to take her and the tire back to the animal shelter where they could properly help.
A Successful Operation
When they got there, they called Cal Fire because they were better equipped to help the dog with their tools.
What they ended up doing was cutting the tire, so they could push her through, while the shelter workers sedated her to make sure she didn’t bite or resist.
The entire effort took a while, and everyone was nervous for the dog, but it had to be done.
In the end, the operation was successful, and the combined efforts of the firefighters and the shelter workers managed to help this dog get out.
Now that everything was finally over, they took her to a veterinarian in California for a checkup to see if she had any major injuries.
When everything turned out okay, she was more than happy to be finally reunited with her family.
One of her family members commented that her swelling seems to be going down and her overall health is improving pretty fast.
