When the rescuers of Stray Rescue of St. Louis found out about a mama dog living in a disgusting house with her babies, they knew they had to step in and help.
And, that’s exactly what they did.
Rescue Mission
When they got inside of the house, they couldn’t believe the state of it, as the entire floor was covered in trash.
As they made their way inside, they finally saw the mama dog hiding in the corner with her babies.
However, she was not happy to see them.
She immediately started growling at them, warning them to stay back. The rescuers, not wanting to overwhelm her, decided to leave her and come back the next day.
Second Try
The rescuers were back at the house first thing in the morning, this time determined to save the adorable little family.
But, again, the mom started barking at them, not knowing that they were there to help.
However, the St. Louis rescuers had a plan. They decided to bring in a kennel and a leash with them, thinking that this would be the safest way to capture the angry mama.
They managed to put the leash over her head, and even though she resisted at first, she soon realized that the rescuers meant no harm so she got inside of the kennel.
After securing her inside, the rescuers went over to her babies, finally taking the little family somewhere safe.
Unfortunately, they noticed that not all of the puppies had made it. Regardless, they weren’t going to leave them behind.
“All are safe and out of this disgusting house, once and for all. We also brought the deceased back with us as well. We named them, will have them cremated, and will honor them,” wrote the rescue on a Facebook post.
New Life
Luckily, the rescuers gained the complete trust of the mama dog, allowing her to relax as soon as they got to the shelter.
There, she finally settled down in a clean and cozy environment, away from all that trash and worries.
As time went by, the mama dog grew more and more confident and her babies grew bigger and stronger.
I am sure that in no time, they will be able to find a home of their own where they will be able to live the lives they deserve.
Good luck, guys!
