Bin was a homeless mother dog, her coat matted and her eyes filled with a weary sadness. She wandered the city streets, her belly rumbling with hunger. But it wasn’t her own hunger that worried her most; it was the tiny whimpers coming from the basket she carried in her mouth.
Inside the basket lay her puppy, a small, vulnerable creature with big, innocent eyes. The puppy was still too young to fend for himself, and Bin’s heart ached with worry. She knew she had to find food, no matter what.
With a heavy heart, Bin approached a nearby restaurant. She sat down at a table on the patio, her puppy nestled in her basket. A waiter noticed her and approached, his expression a mix of curiosity and pity.
Bin looked up at the waiter, her eyes pleading. She couldn’t speak, but her gaze conveyed her message clearly: she was hungry, and her puppy was starving.
The waiter understood. He went inside and returned with a plate of food. He placed it in front of Bin, who immediately began to eat. As she ate, she would glance down at her puppy, her eyes filled with love and relief.
When she had finished, Bin picked up the basket and began to leave. But before she could go, the waiter called out to her. He handed her a small bag of dog food. “Here,” he said. “For your puppy.”
Bin’s tail wagged with gratitude. She took the bag and thanked the waiter with a grateful bark. As she walked away, she felt a sense of hope. Perhaps, with a little help from kind-hearted people, she and her puppy could find a better life.
