Senior Dog Found ‘Scared and Alone’ On The Freeway After Owner’s Betrayal Gets A New Chance

Admin

An abandoned dog on the street that is left to fend for itself is unfortunately no longer a surprise. However, each of these canine fellows has a sad story behind them that truly breaks the heart.

The main villain of the same story is exactly the one who should do everything to ensure the dog a life full of joy and love – the human.

This was exactly the case with one poor senior dog who was found by rescuers while wandering the streets of Oakland, California, completely alone, without the one he trusted the most.

Luckily, big-hearted people made sure to make his future bright.

Sad Fate

An abandoned senior dog named Kino was found in Oakland, California back in June 2024. He was taken to Oakland Animal Services and they immediately started searching for his owner and were eventually successful.

Sadly, they were quite disappointed and heartbroken when they heard that the owner dumped him on purpose because he no longer wanted him

As they did not want to give up on this poor dog so easily, they transferred him to Muttville Senior Dog Rescue, a rescue organization located in San Francisco, California, focused on fostering and adopting senior dogs.

Soon after, Lisa Arden, a woman who has been providing foster homes for many senior dogs for years, took Kino in as well and became his foster mom. As soon as she saw him, Lisa knew that this dog was not pampered by life.

“Unfortunately, we don’t know anything about his previous life or how he ended up on the freeway,” Lisa told Newsweek. “He was found with a bad skin condition, so it’s clear he didn’t have the best care.”

However, all these adversities and his sad fate only motivated Lisa to make the rest of this dog’s life beautiful and full of love.

“Happy, Loyal, And Loving Dog”

When Kino first came to his new foster home, he was still shy and quite scared. Considering what he had been through, it was no wonder, as his wounds were still very deep.

Luckily, with all the love and support from Lisa and her family, this amazing dog started to come out of his shell and show his true colors. For Lisa, his real personality was more than beautiful.

“He loves to run around outside and chase squirrels,” she said. “But his favorite thing to do is sit outside and watch the sunset every evening. He’s very chill and mostly likes to snooze on the couch during the day while I work from home.”

For as many people as possible to see him and hear his story, Lisa posted a video about Kino via her account, @allthefosterpups, where she described him as a “happy, loyal, and loving dog.”

My wonderful senior foster dog, Kino, is available for adoption from Muttville Senior Dog Rescue in San Francisco. He is a terrier mix and estimated to be about 10 years young. He weighs 21 lbs. He is shy at first but once he opens up he is the most loyal and loving boy who deserves the very best home after all he’s been through ♥️ #rescuedog #adoptme #dogs

This video attracted a lot of attention on TikTok and it didn’t take long before it fulfilled the goal of the one who posted it.

Happiest Ending

Just a week after Lisa posted the video about Kino, the one that all his fans were eagerly waiting for followed. In it, Lisa announced that an amazing family fell in love with this dog and decided to adopt him

In this honor, she organized a party for Kino – the last one before the beginning of his new life.

Then, after everyone had a good rest after a sleepless night, the happiest moment finally came. It was pure success as his new family didn’t think for a moment whether they would take Kino home with them.

“Kino got adopted by the sweetest family today! He gets 2 human siblings and a doggie sibling. And best of all he gets to keep watching the sunset every evening in his own backyard. Thank you to the Ross family for giving this very deserving boy a second chance.” Lisa wrote in the caption of the video.

After all the hardships and an owner who broke his heart, Kino, with the help of big-hearted people, got up like Phoenix and flew toward the sun, into a new beginning, full of everything that he lacked in his past life.

Good luck, you wonderful boy.
