Even though it might not seem like it at first glance, kennels can be incredibly overwhelming for animals.
The confined space, loud noises, and absence of their own hooman can make them feel depressed and anxious. Unfortunately, kennel life affects not only the animals’ overall mood but also their chances of being adopted. The longer they stay in the shelter, the more hope they lose.
And as much as the staff does everything they can to try and make these poor babies feel at home, there’s only so much they can do.
That is why Cassian decided to take matters into his own paws!

Meet Cassian – a Boxer-mix who arrived at the Seattle Animal Shelter six weeks ago with the goal of finding a loving family.
At first, he decided to go the old-fashioned way: show off to all the hoomans who walk by my kennel until one falls head over heels for me.
This might seem like a foolproof plan, being that he is so adorable, but things weren’t as easy as Cassian thought.
That is why he decided to take a different approach.
“Cassian is super stressed in the shelter and he doesn’t show that very well in his kennel,” said the shelter volunteer in a TikTok video.
Because of this, Cassian would jump right at the door of his kennel, wanting to say hi and trying to get the attention of any hooman who passed by.
So, to avoid getting him injured, the staff had to cover his door with a blanket.
However, this meant that a lot of hoomans would just pass by him, not even knowing that he was also looking for a forever home!
A Silver Lining
One of the hoomans who was volunteering at the shelter came up with the most brilliant ideas ever.
She decided to print out Cassian’s face on a huge blanket and hang it over his kennel so that whoever walked by would immediately get greeted by his adorable face!
However, since their TikTok video went viral before the blanket arrived, Cassian was already noticed by a loving family who decided to foster him.
But not to worry, the blanket is patiently waiting to be gifted to whoever decides to provide this adorable pup with a forever home.
“Cassian is an enthusiastic and outgoing young boy looking forward to his next adventure. Cassian is a petite boy but packs a ton of personality in a small package,” the shelter wrote on Cassian’s adoption page.
