Ever since she was a little puppy, Oreo has been very playful and loves spending time with other people. Other than her owner, she adores her neighbors.
In fact, she loves them so much that she ended up digging a hole in the fence so she could get in their yard and play with them.
The owner and the neighbors were both glad that Oreo always had someone to play with, but things would soon change.
Oreo Runs To His Neighbors
Just as things looked amazing for Oreo, her owner was going through a lot of trouble. She was not able to take care of her, and this meant that she had to give her away.
It was not yet certain if she would go into a shelter or if the owner would simply find her a new family. However, Hayley, who had been Oreo’s neighbor for years, did not want this to happen.
Luckily for them, the owner reached out and asked her if she would be willing to adopt Oreo, as she was already like family to them.
They spent a lot of time together, and she loved them so much. She was the perfect fit for their family.
Hayley told Newsweek: “Myself and my partner took one look at each other, squealed and then our kids scooped her up and brought her into the house.”
At that moment, Oreo was just so happy. She took the opportunity to play with them, and they realized she would be happy with them.
This was extremely fortunate for the dog. She found a family without being sent to the shelter, and that was just great news for her owner. She was happy Oreo was with someone amazing.
Hayley said: “She’s come at the perfect time, for all of us, for various reasons, and we 100 percent feel that she chose us.”
A Positive Reaction Online
Hayley posted Oreo’s story on TikTok and it should come as no surprise that people noticed and gave their reactions to the whole story.
Somebody commented: “Nothing better than seeing dogs get the absolute love they deserve.”
It’s really amazing to know that Oreo is such a friendly dog that she was able to find a new family with no effort, thanks to her kind nature.
Another person said: “This happened to us. We were thinking about getting a dog, and one day someone asked us if we wanted a dog as she was getting rid of him (that is what she said). He was underweight, timid, scared.”
I am glad to see that there are more stories like this one out there and that these sweet dogs are getting the love they deserve, even though life can be rough for them sometimes.
Lastly, somebody said: “That’s a shih tzu or a cross maybe but you just hit the jackpot because they’re the most beautiful, loyal and loving breed you could hold for.”
While I have never owned a Shih Tzu dog, I am happy seeing so many positive comments regarding their breed. They are really awesome and it’s pretty evident through this story.
In the end, it’s worth noting that Oreo’s story is a great example of how dogs can change our lives in ways we can’t even anticipate and it’s almost always a good thing. I am so happy for Hayley and Oreo.
