This Dog’s Reaction To Being Called A Good Boy For The First Time Will Warm Your Heart

Admin

Every dog is a good boy or girl, no matter their breed, age, or the way they look. And every dog deserves to be called a good boy or girl every day.

What if I told you some dogs never hear those magical words? It’s pretty heartbreaking, isn’t it?

It’s even more heartbreaking to see them react the way Bear did when he first heard someone tell him he was a good boy.

Bear truly was a good boy. He just lived with the wrong people who never told him how much they appreciated him. Bear’s life was too sad, but being surrendered to the shelter did not mean it would get worse.

In fact, Bear’s future became a bit brighter when he ended up with the Animal Friends Of The Valleys in Wildomar, California, where he finally heard those sweet words: You’re a good boy, Bear.

When someone constantly says you are something, you kind of start believing you are. Bear was never told anything sweet. He was always tossed to the corner, yelled at, and told he was worthless. And Bear started feeling like that.

When rescuers first found him, he was at a nearby Wildomar Chick-fil-A, roaming for food outside their garbage bins. He was severely malnourished, terribly neglected, and desperate for some love.

Bear was a dog with a broken spirit. If only someone could restore the smile back on his face.

At the shelter, things went kinda rough, and Bear started feeling even more depressed. When you end up in a room full of dogs sharing a similar destiny, you don’t end up being too happy about it. You end up being worried if the misery will ever end.

Fortunately for this gorgeous Vizsla boy, things weren’t that dark. When you’re at the bottom, the only way is up toward improvement and the sunshine. Rocky Kanaka came along, and Bear felt a shift in the universe promising him better days.

Bear was another dog that ended up in Rocky’s project, “Sitting With Dogs.” This is a nice idea that helps nervous dogs with traumatic pasts desensitize, resocialize, and heal, one step at a time.

Rocky took things slowly, as always. By the look of Bear, he could tell the poor pup had been through a lot and was a frequent visitor at the shelters, where he developed a kennel nose, marked from all that pushing against the kennel bars.

Treats started disappearing one by one as Rocky handed them to Bear. The first step to breaking the guard was taken, and Bear started feeling more relaxed. He got up from the corner and started sniffing things around him, even giving Rocky a good lick.

Bear was so full of love that he was eager to share it with someone who would listen. Rocky listened.

For the first time in his life, Bear’s behavior completely changed when Rocky called him a good boy.

Somewhere halfway through the video that Rocky posted, Bear was called a good boy, and he responded with a happy tail wagging, perky ears, and a spark in his eyes. He felt those words. Bear knew he was a good boy all along.

He just needed someone to remind him.

Bear didn’t let the previous trauma scar him for life. Sure, he was malnourished and neglected, but his body healed. And so did his soul…

Rocky was certain that after some TLC, Bear would be the ideal candidate for adoption.

Not only did he get a human dad, but Bear also got a baby sister, a new name, and a bright new start.

Bear’s new dad saw him at the shelter and then saw Rocky’s video.

He knew he had to snatch that Viszla all for himself. As a previous Vizsla owner, his dad, Mats, knew how to deal with this wonderful breed. In the right hands, Bear or Shadow started to blossom.

Bear’s transformation was obvious even after only two weeks of living with the Mets. He was a brand-new dog with a clean slate to start his life again.

With a little help from Mets and his sister, a Husky named Sigyn, Bear became an Internet sensation. His video with Rocky scored millions of views. Everyone saw his reaction to those sweet words: you’re a good boy, Bear.

Bear, now Shadow Moon, leads a lovely life full of canine shenanigans. His owner tells him he’s a good boy every day, all the time. This dog went such a long way from being all skin and bones to hearing he’s a good boy for the very first time.

Bear, or Shadow Moon, is finally a dog showered with love, just as he deserves.

After a while, Mets even showed Shadow his video reaction to being called a good boy. Priceless? Absolutely! Everything about this sweet canine soul is priceless. And you can check it out yourself if you visit Shadow Moon’s Instagram account.
