The bond we humans share with dogs is something that will always make for compelling stories no matter what era we live in.
They have been our oldest friends and our best ones. I think it would be impossible to imagine our lives without them.
Walter is a man who has shared this friendship with so many dogs throughout his life and they have always been loyal companions.
More recently, he adopted a little dog named Roscoe, who had changed his life in more ways than he could count.
Roscoe Changed So Much
When Walter first brought Roscoe into his house in Texas, he couldn’t believe how much of an impact this dog would have on his life.
Walter told Cuddle Buddies: “I’ve had lots of dogs before, but I never had a relationship like I have with Roscoe.”
He noted that it’s tough for him to get around, so he would use a walker to move. Roscoe would often just slip into the basket and go with him.
No matter what they were doing, he was always there. Even if it was just sitting on the couch, this pup did not leave his owner’s side.
Walter had knee surgery, which meant that he needed someone to help him heal up. That’s how he first heard about Roscoe.
His daughter’s boyfriend asked him if he wanted a puppy, and he naturally said yes. He is just such a wonderful dog.
Walter Loves Roscoe So Much
It’s amazing to see how excited and playful he is at all times. Walter said: “And when they brought him to the house, he immediately took to us as if he had been here all along.”
He also noted just how easy it was for Roscoe to get used to his new home. The moment he stepped in the house, Walter noticed how cheerful and lovable he was right from the start.
Walter was a changed man in many ways. Because he didn’t have a dog before, he didn’t go out as often.
With Roscoe there, he is a lot more active now, and this man just loves seeing his furry companion so happy.
It made his healing process so much easier. He will always be grateful to his sweet dog for helping him with that.
Now that he is doing a lot better, the two can have fun a lot more often and enjoy the warm Texas weather. Walter just doesn’t know what he would do without Roscoe.
In the end, he said: “I don’t know if I would be this far long had it not been for the presence of brother Roscoe. That’s my boy.”
It’s always quite beautiful to see the positive impact dogs have on our lives, and Roscoe is one of the best examples of that. I hope he goes on many more adventures with Walter.
