Did everyone forget about me? Why isn’t anyone picking me up? After all this time, I still need a home. I mean, the shelter workers are nice, but… I really wish I could get me my own hooman to love me unconditionally, the way I would love him.
I bet those exact same words are going through Naco’s head.
Imagine being alone for so many years. Imagine being desperate to find your perfect match.
And, imagine being rejected so many times.
How does that feel? Terrible, right?
Well, that’s how Naco’s been feeling for the past several years, ever since 2018…
But, now, Naco’s hopes are rising (again), and chances are, he will find his furever home.
The Animal Defense League of Texas is going out and about, doing the best they can to find Naco his hooman.

The Teddy Bear Called Naco
It’s been years… It’s been too long. That one early fall of 2018 when Naco arrived at the ADL Texas is gone and forgotten… Just like Naco.
Dogs have come and gone. So many of them went through the shelter. And… Naco stayed, seeing them all find their happy homes.
No one came for him, and Naco, the sweet Teddy bear look-a-like stayed put, with his heart broken into pieces.
But, that wasn’t the only thing wrong with his heart. Naco was severely affected by heartworm. Having an American Pitbull Terrier-mix with this condition waiting for adoption is simply too complicated. Naco wasn’t the kind of dog people would fight over to adopt.
“Potential adopters have come by to meet Naco, but for unknown reasons, they didn’t end up adopting him,” Felicia Niño, the director of marketing and development, said for Newsweek.
It’s really a puzzle why Naco wasn’t adopted yet. He’s got one of the sweetest temperaments you’ll ever see. He’s 100% made of happiness and joy, and you have to give him a chance to show you that.

See, all Naco wants are fun, cuddles, and snacks. And, no water, please – he’s not a Labrador. He’s a sweet Teddy stuck in a grizzly bear body, and he’s got all his love for you.
