Some people shouldn’t really own pets, and it shows. Dog ownership comes with many responsibilities, but proper care must be the most important one.
If you see something, please say something because dog abuse and neglect is unfortunately all around us.
When this compassionate woman saw a pup that looked like a Pitbull eating plastic on the street, she didn’t just walk past, but she immediately turned around and intervened.
The dog was in horrible shape, way too skinny, and had tumors all over his little body.
They just had to do something.
Special People Rescuing A Special Pup
“He wasn’t even eating anything, I think he was just eating plastic and I just saw him on the side of my eye. And I was like, all right, hold on,” Loui, the woman that first saw the dog, told The Dodo.
The black and white Pitbull – later named Louie – was in terrible shape.
“I’ve never seen anything like it,” Loui said.
She immediately called the local Bully rescue, who then contacted the owner on the phone and got him to thankfully surrender the poor dog.
“I knew that we had to do something because he wouldn’t survive much longer in the shape he was in. We brought him to the vet and the rescue took him over,” said the woman.
Louie was a very sad boy, and you could see that he was simply in so much pain.
He was around eight years old, and was a total mess. During his eight years of life, he never experienced love, affection, and care, and it was heartbreaking.
Louie was thankfully in good hands now, but the road to recovery was very long.
“This lil boy will need lots of help so he can get all the care he needs… He will need blood works, dental scaling, skin scraps, needs his eyes checked, tumor removal + send sample of tumor to the lab, sterilization, vaccinations, he is limping on both back legs so needs x-rays, etc.,” the rescue wrote in their Facebook post.
It was also imperative to him that he was taken care of by someone who was loving and caring, which his new foster mom was.
Louie Is Adopted
Louie’s foster mom took him everywhere with her and showered him with so much love.
“One day, she sent me this one video when she was feeding him with chopsticks, and it was the cutest thing ever. What a cute date,” the rescue representative said.
After only a month with his foster mom, Louie was a completely different dog. He was so loving and adventurous – almost as if he wanted to experience everything he missed in the last eight years.
His health also improved, and he was such a happy dog with a wonderful personality.
Even after everything he went through, Louie still loved being around people.
“He is cute, sweet, and perfect. He needs a retirement home where he can live his last years in peace and happiness,” the rescue said.
The rescue’s wish came true, and in September 2023, Louie was adopted!
“𝙇𝙊𝙐𝙄𝙀 ❤ 𝙞𝙨 𝘼𝘿𝙊𝙋𝙏𝙀𝘿 🎉🎉🎉 Our sweet boy went literally from the streets to the sheets,” the rescue wrote on their Instagram.
