Dogs don’t have big wishes. They just want loving families that will never leave them.
Is that too hard? Is that impossible?
Well, for some people, that’s truly hard to give because they don’t even love themselves, not to mention their dogs.
How can a normal human being ever leave a dog on the streets, heartbroken and all, waiting for his owner to come back?
I strongly judge such people, and I’m sure all of you dog lovers will agree with me.
It pains me to see so many pups roaming the streets, ending up in shelters, or even being put on forever sleep lists.
It breaks my heart to see neglected cases like this one you’re about to see. I’ve seen numerous tear-jerking cases of stray dogs, but this poor pooch stayed in my mind for days. I couldn’t forget him, and I simply had to share this story with you.
A word of warning… you will be shaken like I was. You will cry. But, your heart will mend, too, because there’s still something called the second chance.
A Long-Awaited Rescue
Rescuing dogs isn’t always a task finished within minutes. In most cases, it takes a while to earn the dog’s trust so he comes with you.
When the brave rescuers of The DoCa, an organization from Cluj, Romania, heard of a dog that was wandering the streets for two years, they knew they had to intervene fast.
But, getting the dog wasn’t fast at all.
When they located him, they noticed the pup was in horrific condition, covered in mange and without much hair left on his body. He was all skin and bones, clearly left on his own for too long.
The pup clearly didn’t trust humans, and he did everything to avoid getting caught, even not establishing simple eye contact. That’s how distrustful he was.
Fortunately, the rescuers somehow managed to get him into the crate and transfer him to their local shelter.
The poor dog was too scared to react in any way other than with fear and submissiveness. It seemed like he was expecting to be hit every second. So, imagine the life he had on the streets.
The next morning, the vet took him in for a check-up where they decided he will be put under constant veterinary care and monitoring. First, they had to treat his head infections and skin condition so he wouldn’t go blind.
One Little Step At A Time
Surrounded by good people, kind words, soothing smiles, and helpful hands every day, the pup started to open up.
Little by little, progress was made. The pup started eating normally, and he even began wagging his tail.
A month in the animal hospital made a miracle: the pup was almost fully recovered! Even his hair was growing back.
Two months later, he even had his first post-recovery walk.
This pupper had lots of luck, and now, he can walk straight into his new life!
