He wanted to take the ball home…
An incredible event occurred during a Premier Division match in Chile, between Curicó Unido and Palestino, on May 15, 2023.
The game was abruptly interrupted by an unforeseen fan who opted to invade the field.
And, no… it wasn’t a fan of one of the soccer players, but rather, of the ball.
The soccer game had just started when a fluffy brown dog suddenly appeared on the field. He took the opportunity and quickly stole the ball from the players.
Due to the sudden interruption and the fact that the ball was stolen by this fluffy dog, the game was momentarily halted.
In the video posted by TNT Sports Chile, on Twitter, a large and very playful dog can be seen running down the field and then chasing the ball like the true good boy he is.
The referee and several players attempted to retrieve the ball from the dog, but they were unsuccessful. The dog had the ball, and they couldn’t do anything about it.

Although the fans usually don’t like interruptions, this time, the whole crowd went wild and cheered for the fluffy boy.
Another video posted on TikTok by user @jeshucaroca shows one of the Palestino players, Maximiliano Salas, petting the dog as it firmly held the ball in its mouth and paws.
Then, Salas picks up the dog and carries it off the field, while it still refused to let go of the ball. Everyone was laughing at the scene, even the players.
Sadly, while being carried away, the ball managed to fall to the grass and the dog was escorted off the stadium.
The fluffy dog was eventually handed over to another stadium official who took the pup in his arms and continued escorting him off the stadium.
Despite everything, the pup looked extremely proud of himself and had zero regrets.
Despite Palestino’s 1-0 victory, the real winner here was actually this dog that quickly became a viral sensation.
However, this is not the first time that a playful pup stopped a game in Chile.
During a match between Chile and Venezuela’s national women’s teams last year, a black pup ran onto the field at La Granja stadium, in Curicó.
A puppy appeared just 36 minutes into the match, flopped on its back, and demanded belly rubs from the Chilean goalkeeper.
Of course, the referee had to momentarily halt the game while this was all sorted, but the dog only cared for getting some belly rubs.
Eventually, the dog was carried off the pitch by the Chilean player, accompanied by a loud cheer.
