Wiley The Dalmatian Wears His Heart On His Nose

Admin

The Dalmatian breed is definitely one of the unique dog breeds in the world, with their spotted black and white coat that makes them pretty recognizable and world famous.

When Lexi Smith, a girl from Denver, decided to get a dog in 2018, she never thought that a single puppy could change her life forever. But, oh boy, it did.

In March 2018, this little spotted puppy came into her life. She immediately noticed something about this puppy that made him even more adorable.

This Dalmatian puppy had a heart-shaped spot in the middle of his cute puppy nose, and he was utterly breathtaking.

Wiley’s mom, Lexi, told People that this heart-shaped marking wasn’t a deciding factor and that Wiley wasn’t born with it, “I had committed to a puppy from his litter before any of them had spots. I got the first pick of the litter, but I chose him because of his personality more than anything else.”

The marking started to be visible when Wiley was about six weeks old. At first, they weren’t sure if it was going to stick since he was so young, but thankfully, the heart-shaped spot remained permanently on his coat.

As soon as Lexi posted Wiley’s picture, he became famous.

“Everyone notices the heart,” Smith told the Dodo. “Can’t take him anywhere without being mobbed, but he loves all the attention. He is cute and he knows it!”

Wiley does not only have a big heart-shaped marking on his nose, but he also has a big heart. He is very friendly, snugly, and loves meeting new people.

As Lexi describes, he is sociable, very quick to say hello to everyone, and will immediately start playing with you.

On their website, Lexi writes, “He heads in heart first in all that he does – both literally (‘cuz ya know… the nose) and figuratively. He leads with love, and if you ask me, this world could use a whole lot more heart-first, love-lead action.”

Wiley is such a sweet boy, without a mean bone in his body.

However, he still retains some of those famous Dalmatian characteristics, “He is a stubborn little sweetheart full of sass that constantly makes me laugh.”

Even when he was a small puppy, he would “scoff and grunt at you when you told him no, but he doesn’t have to deal with that often since he’s so cute and usually gets his way.”

Seriously, who could resist those adorable eyes and that boopable snoot?

“With love so big it bursts through his face and joy so great it wiggles his whole body, Wiley has taught me so much about what life and living it should look like.”

For Lexi, this adorable little boy has turned her life upside down.

A dog’s life may be short, but it is Lexi’s mission to make Wiley’s life as wide as possible and as happy as possible.

With a camera in her hand and spotted four-paws by her side, these two continuously embark on the adventure of a lifetime.

“From mountain tops to movie nights, beach days and brewery hangs, road trips and even rough times, it has all been a little bit brighter and a lot a bit fuller with this spotted little wild thing by my side.”

You can follow their amazing adventures on Instagram, where Wiley’s profile has more than 239K followers and lots of likes.

Although Lexi thought she would never get a second dog, life once again had different plans for her and Wiley. As of recently, another dog named Makalu joined their lives, and now all three of them are enjoying some new adventures together.

Lexi says, “We are just going to keep enjoying life and hopefully bring more smiles to peoples’ faces.”

Until the whole world knows love.
