Dogs are our most loyal friends in the world. They’re always there when we need them, and if there’s one thing that we can say with certainty – it’s that they will never, ever let go!

The story of Jose and Alejandro is heart-melting, proving once again how strongly dogs bond with their people.

When Jose’s mom thought she lost her boy… Alejandro, their family German Shepherd, was there to protect him. This is what happened…

It was just a casual Saturday afternoon for Jasmine and her little boy, Jose Muñoz. She and her son decided to take a nap, but Jose woke up a little earlier than usual. He sneaked out of bed and decided to do a little exploring outside the house.

Soon his adventure became the biggest horror for his mother, as she couldn’t find him anywhere near the house. Then, she decided to call the Houston Police Department and report a child missing.

Luckily, her five-year-old boy who happened to have Down syndrome was found a half-mile from his home in Houston, Texas.

Sergeant Salas spotted a boy walking on the train tracks with his German Shepherd.

“The dog would not keep an eye off the little boy. It was the greatest thing to see this animal so loyal,” said Salas.

Alejandro, a one-year-old German Shepherd, followed Jose all the way. It was as if he knew that he had to be there for his little hooman, so when the police approached the boy to take him home – Alejandro wouldn’t let go.

“Next thing you know, the German Shepherd jumped inside my patrol car and sat on the floorboard,” said Salas.

“This story was so incredible… Those railroad tracks are normally very busy.”

“He has always been a very overprotective dog”

According to Jose’s sister, Samantha, Alejandro has always been this way. Since his first day in the family, he has been a very overprotective dog, which is why they knew they could rely on him.

Luckily, Jose wasn’t hurt at all when the police department found him. He had only a few scrapes. There will be no charges filed against his family, but his mom says that she will immediately work on installing a child-protective lock.

With this heroic act of loyalty, Alejandro remains the family’s protector. We wish him a long, happy life full of joy and pawesome moments with his loved ones!
