Love can transform us and give us strength to go through anything. It also has the power to heal our scars and make us forget our past.

We all need somebody who will believe in us and who will choose only us. For Murphy, a heartbroken and traumatized shelter Pit Bull, that someone was Caroline.

Let’s see how his inspiring story began.

When Caroline Met Murphy

Murphy spent his days tied up in a rough neighborhood in Philadelphia, without knowing what love and freedom felt like. When he was rescued and brought to a shelter, he had many scars. Having lived through a trauma, he became distrustful of everybody. People let him down so many times.

During his first days at the shelter, he didn’t want to leave his kennel. When Caroline saw him for the first time, she couldn’t help falling in love with Murphy. She knew he needed help and she decided to foster him. That’s when Murphy’s life started to change.

She was the first person he decided to trust. Sad and turbulent times were behind him. The moment he sat in Caroline’s car, he felt hopeful that his life was about to change. He felt so relaxed and he fell asleep on her lap.

Discovering Joy

It took him some time to overcome his fear. Every time the doorbell rang, he became frightened. When Caroline took him on walks, he didn’t feel safe. He was afraid of men. After they spent two weeks together, she was convinced that Murphy had to stay with her.

Murphy let go of his fear, and he made many friends. His walks became relaxing and enjoyable. He liked hugging people and giving them high fives. Caroline made sure she took him to the city a couple of times a week.

As much as Murphy liked hiking and going on adventures, he also enjoyed having rest.

Caroline and Murphy have excellent communication, and she said that she always knew how Murphy felt because he liked to express himself with his ears. When she first met him, she didn’t realize his ears were so big. As he relaxed, his ears gradually started going up.

“It’s really an easy sensor for me to know how he’s feeling. When he’s happy, they’re always nice and perky… his little antennas.”

Murphy and Caroline became inseparable, and he follows her everywhere.

“He came at the perfect time, I was really lonely, and just like everyone… looking for companionship and some type of socialization in 2020.”

Caroline said that Murphy is just like her. Sometimes, they’re a little bit lazy, but both of them like going on adventures, too.

“He’s just the perfect fit. I just love him so much.”

Murphy enjoys sharing his adventures with over 10K followers on his Instagram account. Caroline threw him a big party for his 3rd Gotcha Day on July 13th 2023. Caroline is grateful to Murphy for the lessons he taught her.

“Everyone has difficult times in their lives, and it just shows me that I could get through anything if he could get through that.”

We are thrilled to see that Murphy enjoys his life to the fullest, and so proud of him for overcoming his fears. Thank you, Caroline, for giving him a lot of love. We hope you’ll have many more adventures together!
