There are very few parents who wouldn’t do anything for their child, especially when your kid is as sweet as little Rowan.
Rowan is a 7 and ½-year-old boy from Indianola, Washington, who studied the Corgi breed for a school project and fell in love with these pups.
Being the good kid he is, Rowan thought of writing a very convincing (and eloquent) letter to his dad, Gabe, asking him for a Corgi puppy named Pumpkin.
Spoiler alert – Rowan’s dream came true!
Pretty Please, Can I Have A Corgi Puppy?
“In my humble opinion, I think I am ready for an energetic Corgi puppy,” Rowan wrote in the beginning of his letter.
Can you believe that this very well-composed, genuine, polite, and overall wholesome letter was written by a seven-year-old boy?
Rowan’s dad, Gabe, said that “Rowan is a very special kid” and just by reading this letter, we can see why.
When Gabe read this letter, his heart melted, and he immediately knew that he had to adopt a little Corgi puppy and make Rowan’s dream come true.
So, he contacted Pacific Rim Rescue, based in the Greater Seattle – Western Washington area.
They rescue dogs and puppies from horrible conditions all over the USA, and a little 8-week-old Corgi puppy had just been rescued from a Midwest breeder.
Rowan had no idea that he was about to receive the best gift ever.
Gabe picked a little Pumpkin from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and went to surprise his sweet son. The way he reacted to meeting his dream dog is beyond description.
Dreams Do Come True
Rowan simply couldn’t believe what he was seeing – a puppy?! A Corgi puppy?! Just for him?!
“Thank you, Daddy” was the first thing Rowan uttered while lovingly holding his new puppy, Pumpkin.
“I was NOT expecting this. We just got a video game!” said Rowan, still not believing that his dream did, in fact, come true.
“This is the best day in my life and this is the best present I’ve ever had.”

From the moment Rowan got Pumpkin, it was love at first sight. He quickly showed that everything he promised in the letter was true.
“He is such a kind, generous, and thoughtful child. Seeing Rowan take on responsibilities he promised to in his letter has been wonderful,” Rowan’s dad told The Dodo. “This puppy has brought Rowan and I so much joy. We’re incredibly fortunate to have Pumpkin as the newest member of our family.”
Pumpkin is a very happy and very loved doggo that loves to play, run, and go on hikes in the woods.
Rowan and Pumpkin are the best of friends, and hopefully will be for many years to come. It is okay to dream because sometimes dreams do come true when you least expect it.
