There are thousands of dogs at this moment living on the street and waiting for someone to help them survive.
Unfortunately, the capacities of local rescues are often insufficient to admit all the dogs in need, but there’s at least a minimum that we can do to ease their suffering!
A few months ago, a woman was driving her car on the way home when a stray German Shepherd literally jumped in front of her and stopped her, begging for some help.
Given his affectionate temperament, it was obvious that this GSD had a family before, but he was now abandoned due to an ongoing war in this country.
Stray Furry Friends On A Humane Mission
The woman, who decided to step out of the car and extend the hand of humanity to the abandoned German Shepherd, was actually a volunteer in a local rescue!
A group of local dog lovers decided to do the noble thing for the dogs living on the streets. They founded an organization called Stray Furry Friends, whose mission is to help strays survive during harsh weather conditions by supplying them with food and basic veterinary care.
It was as if this dog’s destiny was to be found by the right person at the right time! She offered him some food and water, and the dog accepted it with open paws!
Even though he was hungry and in need, he ate the food gently and graciously, displaying no outbursts whatsoever.
After he was done with eating, he showered the volunteer with kind looks and decided to approach her a little more. The dog just enjoyed being petted by a hooman after a long time, forgetting about the cruelty of street life for one short moment.
This heart-melting moment between the woman and the dog was recorded and soon went viral, reaching almost over a half million views in a short period of time!
Thousands Of Abandoned Dogs
Unfortunately, the group’s initiative derives from the fact that they’re not capable of providing a permanent shelter for the dogs they find. There are very few resources for doing so, which is why this team accepts donations over their PayPal account.
There are currently thousands of stray dogs living on the streets, waiting for someone to help them. Given the current situation, there’s not much to do in this regard except making sure the dogs at least get their regular meals.
The SFF’s initiative is a noble one, and we wish them the best of luck in their future work! They will certainly need it!
