Every day, a plethora of selfless good deeds are done by local dog lovers, showing us that humanity indeed is still alive!
That, too, goes for Soul Dog Rescue, from Fort Lupton, Colorado – a tireless team of rescuers who put all of their energy into rescuing canines on a daily basis!
Even though there are some exhaustive and difficult rescuing missions, this team of volunteers is, most of the time, able to nurse the dogs they find back to health and give them a chance for a new start.
Other times, they run out of capacity, and their only hope are the good souls who take initiative and go on rescuing missions themselves, like Shimayne did!
A Giant-Hearted Volunteer To The Rescue
This giant-hearted woman from Chinle, Colorado, reached out to Soul Dog Rescue for urgent help when she spotted a dog mom and a litter of her puppies fending for themselves on a pile of concrete rubble in the open land.
First, she had been watching for the pregnant dog for some time, but once she noticed that her belly was gone, Shimayne knew that the puppies were somewhere near and that they needed help.
Even though she wasn’t able to track the puppies down, she didn’t give up. She and her neighbor, also a dog lover, went in search of the litter, and just when they thought the whole quest was for nothing – they heard a well-known, high-pitched cry!
The mama hid all of her puppies (seven in total) in a small crevice under the rubble pile, and they were extremely hard to approach.
On top of all that – the whole family was in danger, as there was heavy machinery working in the area. The bulldozers were threatening to level the slabs of concrete the pups were hiding under, which is why Shimayne and her friend needed to hurry up!
They somehow managed to get into the crevice and pull the entire family out. Fortunately, when they pulled out the last pup, they realized all of them were nursed and taken care of pretty well by their mom, and they were all good to go to a foster home!
Shuri And Her Family Are Finally Safe
Shimayne’s friend offered to foster all the pups and their mom, who was later named Shuri.
The good news is – Shuri and two of her babies are already adopted into loving families, and they couldn’t be happier!
“Five of Shuri’s pups are still available for adoption but we are so grateful for these good people saving their lives,” SDR wrote.
The rest of Shuri’s puppies are still waiting for their perfect home, but we’re absolutely pawsitive that it’s the matter of the day when the ideal adopters will show up!
One thing’s for sure – the bad days are definitely behind Shuri’s family, and they will never, ever have to worry about having a roof over their heads. From now on, these brave pups will always be safe!
