From Tied In A Playground To World’s Sweetest Hugger
Marisa Grimshaw first met Lilybug in 2013 in a Connecticut shelter, when she was only an abandoned puppy tied in a playground. She was approximately three months old back then, suffering from mange and a staph infection.
At the time, this New York woman’s goal was to give Lilybug a temporary home throughout the fostering program, but once she got to know her, she just couldn’t let go!
That day, Marisa walked out of the shelter with her “soul dog,” and the rest, as they say, is history!
Since then, Lilybug and Marisa have weathered many storms together. Lilybug (AKA Bug) transformed into a pawdorable girl and a wonderful companion, helping her momma foster other doggos and embarking on countless adventures together.
What stands out the most in their relationship are the one-of-a-kind hugs Lilybug gives to her owner! She literally leans into Marisa, presses her forehead against her, and wraps her paws around her like a hooman!
“If I’m upset about something, or if I cry in front of her, she won’t leave my side. She’ll be in my lap with her forehead pressed against me just trying to figure out what’s wrong and doing her best to make me feel better,” Marisa told The Dodo.

This trademark of hers gained her a lot of admirers all over the world, and her hugs are now widely popular! Lilybug even has her own Instagram account where her mom shows to the world what a great companion she really is.
She never misses a chance to give her momma the sweetest hug and then to shower her with the warmest, cutest kisses in the world!
Lilybug just loves spending time with Marisa, and it seems that she has a pretty hard time being apart from her.
Every time Marisa has to leave the house, Lilybug makes a sad face, practically begging her to stay… and every time she returns back home – she’s just over the moon!
Her Hugs Are Not Just Reserved For Marisa

Aside from her mom, this sweet Bully girl adores sharing her love with other people, and she literally does it with everyone she meets!
This New York doggo makes it almost impossible for any person to resist her kind nature and her unique charm.
Lilybug loves to share her moments with other dogs, too! Every time she goes out on a walk and runs into a stranger’s pup, she transforms into the most playful girl ever.
Having Lilybug in her life is a rewarding experience for Marisa that can’t be compared to anything. Once an abandoned dog left at the mercy of the streets, Lilybug now has a family of her own.
And, as for Marisa, Lilybug is a reminder of how amazing of an impact adopting a rescue dog can be – for life!
