Stray pups do their best to survive as they wander the streets trying to find morsels of food.
Life on the streets is difficult, and when the pups get sick, they don’t have their human who would nurse them back to health.
Sadly, all they can do is wait for help and hope that a kind-hearted human would find them and rescue them.
Cahaya was a stray pup who was very sick and in need of urgent medical care. He waited for so much time that he started losing hope of ever being rescued.
Just when he ran out of hope, an incredible thing happened that changed his life forever.
Waiting For A Kind Human
While he was lying on the side of a road, a woman named Kristy spotted him. At first, she wasn’t even sure that he was a dog. He was very skinny and he was missing most of his fur.
Cahaya was so weak that he could barely walk.
Kristy took him to the vet for a complete veterinarian checkup. He was diagnosed with mange and tapeworm. Kristy decided to foster him, so she took him to her home, giving him all the care he needed.
She held him like a baby, and Cahaya couldn’t take his eyes off his foster mom. He was grateful for being rescued.
“I’m just holding him, and he is just looking up at me. He was just the sweetest little thing,” said Kristy.
Nursing The Puppy Back To Health
During the first couple of days, Cahaya curled into a ball and slept most of the time. Kristy knew that his body was in a state of shock, and that he needed sleep to regain his strength.
As days went by, he started looking more relaxed. He used every opportunity to be close to his mom. Cahaya loves his foster mom, and he always gives her adorable kisses.
After a few weeks, the sweet pup became more energetic and he could go up the stairs. Gradually, he started playing and he blossomed into a happy puppy.
His physical appearance started changing. The playful doggo gained weight, and his skin started looking much better. His fur was growing and he soon turned into a beautiful puppy.
“I can’t believe how fluffy and furry he is now. When I found him, he looked like a rat,” Kristy said.
She was overjoyed to witness his amazing transformation.
He was no longer a lethargic and hopeless puppy whom she rescued from the streets. He was full of energy and he loved sprinting and doing zoomies.
Cahaya brought a lot of joy into her life, giving her all his love.
“… There was just something about him that was exuding this little light. He is just endless energy and endless love.“
Starting A New Life With His Forever Parents
As much as Kristy loved Cahaya, she knew that she couldn’t give him a stable home. She was determined to find him a great family that could give him everything that she couldn’t.
She posted Cahaya’s story on her Instagram account, announcing that the beautiful dog was looking for his forever home.
A wonderful family saw the post, along with Cahaya’s photo, and they fell in love with him. When the adorable puppy met his new mom for the first time, they bonded immediately. He ran into her arms, smiling from ear to ear.
Although he would never forget Kristy, he felt excited to move to his forever home and to start a new chapter in his life.
Cahaya is very happy with his forever family who adores him.
Knowing that the sweet puppy found happiness and immense love makes me feel over the moon.
Cahaya’s story emphasizes the importance of fostering. Fosters are our heroes who selflessly give all their love and care to their foster dogs and prepare them for their forever home.
