When you see a random dog tied up to a fence and left on his own for good, the first thing that pops into your mind is that humanity doesn’t deserve these four-legged fur balls.
That is exactly what happened to the 90-pound Pitbull, Trap, in Brooklyn, New York. He was abandoned by his owner at the mercy of the street. Once the dog realized his man was not coming back, he started stressing out and being anxious.
Luckily, the whole thing was caught on the surveillance cameras of the nearby store and the dog got the help he needed. Here’s how…
When He Was Found, Trap Was In So Much Pain
When his owner tied Trap to a fence, he then took a shot of him and entered the nearby store. He even told the worker in the store that “Somebody tied this dog up.” At the moment, the store owner didn’t know that the poor Pittie was his until he saw it on camera.
The guy who tied his Pitbull ran away immediately after he walked out of the store, and Trap was left alone. He was looking at every person that walked by as if he wanted to ask: “Are you my person?”
After seeing what happened to this poor Pittie on camera, the store owner took Trap in for a while and then reached out to animal service. He was extremely anxious when he first entered the facility…
Mr. Bones & Co. Provided Refuge
People from Mr. Bones & Co. Animal Care Center, from New York City, NY, acted immediately. They took Trap in and provided him with his first medical checkup, as well as a temporary home.
They soon learned that Trap was suffering from severe muscle atrophy and hip dysplasia, which is why he needed immediate surgery. They arranged for total hip replacement surgery, which unfortunately failed.
“When this surgery failed, he endured a second surgery to salvage his mobility. After complications from that procedure, he underwent months of physical therapy. In between all of this, he underwent dental surgery to fix his rotten, neglected teeth,” said the Mr. Bones & Co. team.
The good news is that Trap handled all of these things like a rockstar. He didn’t lose his enthusiasm even for a second, and he was so grateful for finally being able to live in a care-free environment.
From A Foster Home To A Furever Family
After months of recovery, Trap was transferred to a foster home. His new foster mom, Kristin Nicole, was so happy to have him in. Despite his gigantic size and the fact that he was formerly mistreated, Trap acted like a 90-pound lap dog around his new mommy.
Even though the original idea was for Kristin to be only a temporary foster for Trap, things soon evolved and the poor Pittie got the best plot twist possible!
Kristin fell in love with Trap in no time and decided to keep him for good. She applied for permanent ownership after the announcement that Trap was available for adoption.
“We received a phone call from the woman who carried him when he could not walk, hand-fed him when he was too medicated to eat, and meticulously practiced the home rehab exercises, his foster mama, Kristin. There was no way she could let him go.”
A mistreated, anxious Pittie got the happiest ending in the world, and Kristin got her lifetime furry companion!
