If your parents or grandparents are like mine, at some point in their lives, they were probably opposed to having any kind of pet in the house. Well, Mr. Dahl, Aleecia’s grandfather, was that grandparent.
Your sharp eye probably noticed that I said “was”. Sometimes the best pet parents are those who deny being great with animals. For Aleecia’s grandfather, Coco was the dog that made him overturn his decision.
In an interview with The Dodo, Aleecia explained that the dynamic duo are always together. So much that her Grandpa takes Coco to the furniture store to help him pick out a chair that will be to both their likings.
This opportunity arose once her grandparents had to move and get some new furniture in. Aleecia said:
It was Grandpa’s requirement that the footrest on his lounge chair was wide enough for him and Coco to sit side by side.
She continued explaining how they’re the best of friends, and given the chair selection task, they had to search for the best recliner possible.
He brought Coco into several stores to try out chairs until he found the perfect one.
The two were always well-received at the stores they visited. Of course, this scene wasn’t something the workers were accustomed to. Smiles and giggles were the gift Aleecia’s Grandpa and Coco had for the people they encountered.
After a few stores, Coco and Mr. Dahl found their chair of choice. Now, they were once again prepared to enjoy sitting and lying in peace and quiet until falling asleep. Good on them!
