Admin

It’s never a bad day to rescue a dog!

This is the motto many giant-hearted animal rescuers live by, and they stick to it throughout their entire lives. Even off-duty, these noble people will never turn their head away when they see a dog in need, and that’s what makes them truly great!

When a group of people spotted a helpless dog crying for help in a city sewer, they wasted no time! They knew the dog was in trouble and needed prompt human assistance, so they called the best one among them to help!

The Noble Mission

Randy Grim, the founder of Stray Rescue of St. Louis, Missouri, dedicated his whole life to saving dogs in need. When he heard about a senior dog stuck in a local sewer, he immediately rushed to help.

The dog was evidently scared, but Randy just knew how to help! He slowly climbed down the sewer, approached the pooch, and gave him the gentlest pat ever.

He then took him in his arms to make sure the dog calmed down. And, sure enough – he did!

The two had a wonderful bonding moment right there, and even though the pooch was still in a lot of shock, he knew at that point that Randy was there to help him.

After comforting him for a few minutes, Randy lifted the dog to safety. He was so relieved when he finally came out of the sewer and saw the light of day.

And then, the most wonderful thing happened!

Just a few moments after the rescue, the dog came back to Randy for some more cuddles, as if he was trying to thank him. Everyone was so happy that he was finally safe, appreciating Randy’s efforts and his timely reaction.

The whole rescue mission was caught by a camera, which helped further the process of finding the dog’s owner.

After the initial checkup and care at the facility, the Stray Rescue of St. Louis team posted the dog’s rescue story on social media, hoping that his potential owners would come forward.

“Please share for he is an old guy without a chip,” SRSL wrote.

Just a day later – a miracle happened!

As it turned out, the dog was lost, leaving everyone in the family worried sick. The dog’s owner saw the rescue story on Fox2Now, and he immediately reached out to the rescue.

“His dad saw him on the Fox2Now story and came and got him today! He said they had been crying and were so worried…Here they are reunited,” the SRSL team wrote on Facebook.

Seeing them reunite with each other was a moment of pure joy and satisfaction. After a traumatic experience for both, the dog and his dad were finally together.

We hope that they never have to part ways again!
