It is a very popular misconception that cats and dogs are sworn enemies. There are hundreds of furry pairs that consist of a sassy cat and a playful dog that couldn’t go a single day without each other, debunking this silly little myth.
However, there are some instances where the cat simply does not want to hang out with the dog or the dog is too afraid of a furry little kitten to even approach it, let alone play with it.
That is why when a pet parent brings together a cat and a dog that actually like each other, they feel as if they hit the jackpot, and I bet the pet parent of today’s story feels exactly that.
Best Friends
Harper, a 9-month-old Golden Retriever, and Halo, an 8-month-old Ginger cat, are a pair of furry best friends who adore each other.
They love spending their time playing together and then, after all of that exhausting fun, they like to cuddle up next to each other on the couch.
However, sometimes their cuddling ends up being another game in which Harper has all the fun.
And, it is actually quite obvious when she is playing this game, as her face gives her away every time.
Where Is Halo?
Harper’s game is actually just a giant hug. In fact, the hug is so giant that it completely swallows up the other participant. And, in every case, that other participant is Halo.
So, whenever their lucky owner notices that Halo is missing, all he has to do is look at Harper and see if she has that funny face on – if she does, well… he found Halo.
The unique and interesting game brings immense joy to their family whenever they play it. Luckily, their dad let us in on the laughs by sharing a video capturing a sweet moment between the two.
As soon as the owner asks what Harper is doing, her adorable head pops up, revealing hidden Halo.
Even though it is only 9 seconds long, it still has the power to melt your heart like ice cream on a hot summer day.
The Comment Section
Many love this little game full of love so much that they just had to share their opinions on it in the comments.
And, every single one was just as adorable as the video.
“No matter what’s going on in my life, watching cats and dogs being friends/siblings will always make me smile,” one wrote.
I am sure we can all agree on this one.
“’Smuggled’ and ‘snuggled’ are not the same, Harper,” wrote another.
I think Harper missed a couple of her English lessons, don’t you?
And, of course, you can’t leave out a Looney Toons reference out of this.
“I will love him and hug him and squeeze him and call him George,” wrote a viewer.
One commenter even realized some concerns, stating:
“I can’t tell if they’re friends or if the dogs holding the cat hostage.”
But, luckily, the other made a very good point by pointing out something very valid:
“I’m sure the cat didn’t like it he wouldn’t stay there.”
Final Word
The important thing is that this adorable little game brings no harm whatsoever… apart from maybe being annoying to Halo at certain points.
But, it looks like he is able to control himself, allowing his big, fluffy sister to have some fun on his account. Incredible!
