Marine Couple Living In Virginia Changes Their Wedding Plans To Adopt Their Dream Dog

You don’t know how much you’re capable of doing for a pet until you become a proud owner.

Even though they were just at the beginning of their parenting adventure, Eduardo Del Pozo and Regan Mast made headlines all over the world with the sweetest act!

This amazing Virginia couple fell in love with a shelter dog who would soon be up for adoption – a German Shepherd named Daisy.

There was one “small” problem, though. The adoption day happened to overlap with their wedding day, so the couple decided to do an extraordinary thing!

Eduardo and Regan immediately agreed on applying for Daisy, as this 4-month-old German Shepherd was just the perfect dog for them. And, despite the scheduling problem, they were inclined to make it work!

Shelter workers of Fairfax County Animal Shelter told them to return on October 28th 2023 because Daisy was among the dogs slated to be up for adoption at their official opening at Lurton, Virginia, that day, at 11 A.M. sharp.

The problem was, Regan and Eudardo’s ceremony was on that very same day, at the same hour.

This couple, serving at Marine Corps Base Quantico, in Virginia, decided to move up their ceremony to 9 A.M., so they asked the officiant and all of their attendants if they could make it. And, to their surprise – everyone said yes.

They snapped a few photos right after their ceremony, and rushed to the opening ceremony, hoping to be the first in line to adopt Daisy.

“After learning that Daisy the puppy was ready to go home with her new family today, this couple wanted to make sure they were here when our doors opened for adoptions,” FCAS wrote.

When they saw them waiting for the opening in their wedding attire – everybody melted!

“It’s safe to say that Daisy will be incredibly loved in her new home, and we were so happy for the newlyweds (and new dog parents),” the FCAS team wrote on Facebook.

Eduardo and Regan showed such commitment and dedication to their goal of adopting a dog they wanted all this time, and the shelter staff were grateful to be able to send Daisy to their home.

This pawdorable pup was found as an infant roaming the streets, and now she’s getting the best home possible!

At their very first meeting, ever, Daisy melted in the hands of her new owners. She immediately started giving Regan the sweetest kisses once she picked her up, which was an excellent sign!

Daisy loved her new pawrents right off the bat, confirming that the trio had an instant connection. They walked into a new life as if they had been together all this time.

And, the cutest thing ever was – they managed to get Daisy to attend their reception!

After adopting a new addition to their family, these proud GSD owners headed to the other proceedings of the day. Everyone was so happy to meet Daisy at the reception, especially knowing that the couple added her to the family on their special day.

Daisy has already taken over her parents’ home. She just loves to crawl into their bed and sneak an occasional snuggle. She’s still in the process of learning how to be a house dog, but there’s no doubt that she’s gonna get there eventually.

The couple is absolutely stunned with Daisy’s intelligence and charmed by her one-of-a-kind nature! Among all of their wedding presents – this furry girl is the most precious gift they could receive!
