Dogs are known to be very durable animals, and they can survive for long periods of time in harsh environments.
However, I think that most people overestimate their ability to adapt and survive, especially those who would abandon them and leave them in freezing conditions.
Yes, they are very resistant, but they can still feel cold and don’t deserve to be left on their own like that.
In this story, we will talk about a stray dog who was found freezing in a small iron crate, and rescued just in the nick of time.
Living In Freezing Cold Conditions
When Rosabella was first abandoned in the cold weather of Minnesota, her previous owners did not care about how she was going to survive in such harsh conditions.
She spent a long time just freezing and trying to warm herself up, despite having nothing that would help her.
Fortunately for her, a rescuer found her and took her to a warm place where she would finally be safe.
Kelli Hanson, who works for Ruff Start Rescue, told The Dodo: She was only 19 pounds, when she should have been closer to 45 pounds.
We don’t know how long she waited in the cold, but I think she was noticed fairly quickly.
Rosabella was really grateful to be in a safe place and away from the freezing cold.
A Loving Home For Rosabella
Her rescuers made sure to look for a new family for her in Minnesota, so she could finally find someone who loves her.
And, what do you know, someone did come to take her to a new home pretty quickly after she was rescued.
Rosabella’s mom told Ruff Start Rescue: After seeing her sad story on the news, I knew I had to reach out to see what I could do to help her. Luckily, I was chosen to possibly adopt her.
She also had her own dog, named Lucy, and she seemed to really like being around Rosabella, which was a good sign.
After going through so much physical and emotional pain after being left by her owner, she can now enjoy walks in the neighborhood, playing in the park, and just exploring her surroundings.
Rosabella’s mom ends the post by saying: It has been fun to have Rosabella in my life. She has such a sweet spirit which is amazing considering her background.
Now she gets the much-needed love she deserves in her forever home!
She is now in a loving home with a wonderful family who will cherish every moment they have with her.
