Today’s story is about a sad, stray puppy named Duncan, whose little body was covered in scabs. The little pup was in pain and he needed human help and love more than ever before.
The Little Puppy’s Life Begins To Change
The volunteers at Friends of Marshall Animals, the shelter located in Marshall, Texas, rescued the tiny, stray puppy. They felt their hearts sink as soon as they saw him. He looked at them with the saddest expression on his face, as if he wanted to ask them to help him.
The fur baby’s skin was pink and inflamed. He had mange.
The rescuers brought him to the shelter and named him Duncan. They were resolved to ease his pain and help him flourish into a happy pup.
Soon, the shelter found a great foster family for Duncan, and he moved in with them. That was the moment when his life began to change for the better.
His foster family had experience in treating pups who suffered from mange. Their priority was to make Duncan feel better and make all his pain go away as soon as possible.
His foster family followed a special treatment plan that included medicated baths. They comforted him and tried to cheer him up.
They encouraged him to keep fighting for his recovery. Duncan was glad to receive all their selfless affection. He felt loved for the very first time in his life.
Duncan Recovers And Finds His Happily-Ever-After
After only a week, Duncan’s condition improved and he looked healthier. His foster family was happy to see that he wasn’t in pain anymore. His skin was no longer red and inflamed. It healed, and beautiful specks began appearing on his body.
“A little medicine and a loving foster go a long way,” the shelter wrote on Facebook.
Duncan’s foster family kept pampering him with care and giving him soothing baths. They told him every day that they love him very much. Duncan’s eyes sparkled with joy.
After the delightful doggo made a complete recovery, he was ready to start searching for a forever home.
His transformation was wonderful. His shelter friends were overjoyed to see his silky white fur covered with black spots. They didn’t know what breed the sweet puppy was, describing him as a mix to his potential adopters.
“Looks like there might be some Dalmatian in there, but all we can say for sure is that he’s a beautiful mix,” Friends of Marshall Animals shared in a Facebook comment.
In November of 2023, Duncan’s greatest dream became reality. The pup was over the moon when he realized that he found his forever family. He kept smiling from ear to ear.
