A resident in Bixby, Oklahoma, was in a deep sleep when a loud and strange noise woke her up in the middle of the night. At first, Bonnie Moriarty thought that her dog and her cat got into a fight.
She never imagined that a mysterious intruder was in her home and that he was heading towards her bedroom.
A few moments later, she received the shock of her life. Her cat came running in her bedroom, along with the mysterious animal who definitely wasn’t her dog.
The Mysterious Intruder Reveals Himself
“I woke up and the cat and the coyote came running into my room. It was still dark,” she said.
Moriarty screamed as loud as she could. She couldn’t believe her eyes. She quickly turned on the lights. That’s when she saw that the coyote crouched in the corner of the room.
As soon as Moriarty’s dog heard his mom’s screams, he rushed to her bedroom and started barking at the coyote.
The coyote seemed timid and he froze without knowing what to do.
Moriarty’s husband was not home. He was out of town and their kids were sleeping upstairs. After they heard their mom screaming, they woke up and came downstairs to see what was going on.
Moriarty assumed that the coyote followed her cat into the house. Since the back door wasn’t properly shut, he easily opened the door.
“He somehow just lunged at the door and the door opened,” she said.
Moriarty calmed down. She left her bedroom and closed the door, leaving the coyote trapped in the corner of her room.
The Coyote Is Glad To Return Home
She called the police right away, and shortly afterward, they arrived at the scene.
Three police officers entered Moriarty’s bedroom. Their plan was to catch the wild intruder by using catcher poles. After they carefully placed a loop around the coyote’s neck, they took him out of the house and released him.
The coyote felt relieved. He couldn’t wait to go back home, and he scurried to the nearby woods in Bixby, Oklahoma.
This was a shock for him, too. Being escorted by the police was not what he imagined would happen when he started chasing the cat.
Coyotes sometimes attack people’s pets, but they rarely follow them into the house.
This particular coyote seemed to have gotten carried away after he saw Moriarty’s cat. When he found himself in the house, he felt timid and confused. We’re sure he won’t make the same mistake again.
We’re glad that nobody suffered harm in this incident.
