Driver Noticed Something Move In The Snow And Then Realized What It Was

One part of the year where rescues get typically a lot more difficult is during the winter. The cold weather makes it hard to save animals.

To make matters worse, many of them are afraid of human contact and would rather stay in the freezing conditions rather than accept our help.

In this story, we will talk about a group of rescuers who were notified about an animal hiding in the snow and rushed to help.

What Could It Be

When a couple of gentlemen were just driving on the road and minding their own business, they noticed something unusual on the road nearby.

It looked like something was moving in the snow, but they could not get a good glance at it.  They got out of their car and approached the area where they saw the animal.

And, they were very much surprised. It was a dog hiding in the snow. The poor pup tried to make a small nest to get warmer but did not understand that it was not going to help him.

The drivers called Steinbach Area Animal Rescue to come and help this sweet dog and they answered the call.

One thing they noticed was that she was really matted and that could have actually been helping her survive in the freezing cold.

She was not willing to move despite her rescuers politely nudging her forward. So, they came up with the idea to place her on a tarp and move her through the snow and into the vehicle.

Once she was safely inside the car, they turned the heater on and rushed to a clinic to see if she was really okay.

When they were there, the veterinarians told the rescuer, Michelle, that she had a fever and was pretty dehydrated, but would make it.

She was a bit timid, so they sedated her in order to get rid of her excessive fur. It looked like she breathed a sigh of relief once it was gone. She looked adorable now.

The first person she really loved meeting while staying in the shelter was Graham. He also enjoyed spending time with her and decided that he would adopt her.

After taking in the dog, now named Winnie, she wasted no time in getting used to her new house. She met a lot of new dogs there and they all got along perfectly.

Graham went to a pet store with her, and they selected a new jacket for her. Because she was struggling in the cold, her new owner thought it would be best to get her a warm one.

Things looked completely different now. Winnie enjoyed being in the snow and playing with everyone there. She has changed so much in such a short time.

Having such an amazing parent changed her life completely, as she is now living in a warm place with a lot of dog siblings and a loving owner who would do anything for her.
