“When life gives you lemons, make lemonade!”

Life can be very unpredictable – one day, you might be happy and thriving, and the next, you are struck with the biggest “lemon” out there, fighting for your own life.

It can happen to anyone, but it’s the way you choose to deal with it that can make all the difference.

This little puppy came into Stray Rescue of St. Louis after a devastating car accident, leaving her with a traumatic spinal fracture.

To be completely honest, things didn’t look good and there was very little chance she would survive.

But, she still had so much life in her, and her eyes sparkled with the happiest light, which made her rescuers give her a chance.

She Deserved A Chance

Ramone came to the Stray Rescue of St. Louis animal shelter with a devastating injury after being hit by a car, which left her paralyzed and struggling to stay alive.

Things didn’t look good for little Ramone, but there was something about her that inspired everyone to fight for her little life.

She has so much life in her that the thought of euthanasia made everyone sick, so they decided to give her a chance, and oh boy, did she take it.

“This little puppy was happy and so full of joy. We couldn’t believe she wanted to play with a ball, she wanted her belly rubbed, and she wanted to kiss our fingers,” Stray Rescue of St. Louis wrote in their Facebook post.

The surgery was extremely difficult, and the vets did everything they could to save her.

Thankfully, the surgery was successful, and Ramone was making extraordinary progress during her healing journey.

She was such a brave little puppy – truly a miracle and an inspiration to everyone.

Nothing Will Stop Her

After a couple of months, all her wounds healed and she was ready to start being a puppy. Nothing could stop her; not even her paralyzed back legs.

When her back healed, she was able to move around on her own, and she was running everywhere freely, despite her paralyzed back legs.

Her rescuers quickly discovered that her paralyzed rear legs were more of a hindrance to her mobility, so they made the difficult decision to amputate both back legs and her tail to give her a chance of having the best possible life.

She recovered well from the amputation. She was getting around great, and her front legs were growing stronger with each passing day.

“This amazing, strong, brave girl is the epitome of a warrior. She does not feel sorry for herself. In fact, she has no idea she’s different. She’s one of the happiest souls we’ve ever met,” the rescue added.

Everyone absolutely adores little Ramone, spoiling her with new toys every single day. Her favorite things in the world are stuffed animals, and she loves showing them off.

“She’s 7 months old, about 20 pounds, and absolutely perfect the way she is. She’s curious, playful, and friendly with everyone. She deserves the moon, the stars….and all the stuffed animals in the world,” they said.

Ramone is truly an inspiration that shows all of us that it’s okay to be a little bit different. The most important thing is to live life with a grateful heart.

Right now, Ramone is still getting used to walking on two legs, but as soon as the doctors approve her to use wheels, she’ll get the custom ones.
