Every dog is born with the right to have a loving home.
Sadly, heartless people reject their pups and abandon them without feeling the tiniest bit of compassion.
Three pups felt betrayed after they were dumped in the middle of nowhere in Kennewick, Washington.
Trying to get away from the scorching heat, the exhausted dogs found shelter in a metal pipe nearby. They stayed by each other’s side, comforting each other.
With their whole heart, the sad dogs hoped that a good soul would find them and bring them to safety.
The Dogs Get Noticed
Luckily, a good human named Jim Tietsort was driving along the deserted road and spotted the three abandoned pups.
He tried to catch them, but the dogs were too skittish and they hid in the pipe.
Since Tietsort couldn’t rescue them, he posted a plea for help on Facebook, hoping that somebody would jump to the dogs’ aid.
When local resident, Nikki Surgeon, came across the post, she knew that she had to help the dogs. The kind-hearted woman drove to the area, but unfortunately, she couldn’t find them.
She was shocked that someone could have dumped the canines on the side of the deserted road and left them to endure heat, hunger, and thirst.
“For somebody to dump dogs where they have nowhere to go and there’s no shelter — and it was like 98 degrees [Fahrenheit] out — it’s terrible,” Surgeon told The Dodo.
Surgeon was determined to find the babies and take them somewhere safe. When she came back to the location the next day, she met the dogs at last.
The canines, later named Canyon, Pebble, and Sahara, looked at her with a distrustful expression on their faces.
The giant-hearted human fed them and talked to them, but the pups didn’t let her get close to them. They were too scared.
Building Trust With The Canines
Surgeon and another kind-hearted woman named Sandy Orton began visiting the dogs three times a day. They kept bringing them food and water, trying to win them over.
The pups were extremely grateful to the wonderful humans who showed them kindness and compassion.
Little by little, the doggos’ eyes became softer and they started approaching the good people.
Within two days, Surgeon, Orton, and other members of the community succeeded in capturing Canyon and Sahara.
However, Pebble, the brindle female, was still frightened.
The rescuers gave her more time and they continued visiting her every day.
On the fifth day, the canine began trusting them. Her rescuers rejoiced when she finally let them place a leash over her neck.
The good people cuddled her and reassured her that she was now safe.
As the pooch felt the gentle touch of their hands, her fear melted away. She became affectionate toward her rescuers as if she wished to thank them for their selfless help.
All three dogs were taken to a hospital where they received medical attention. Their rescuers were happy to learn that the dogs were in decent condition.
Hoping To Find Their Humans
Surgeon decided to foster Canyon, Sahara, and Pebble. She doted on the precious canines, showering them with love.
Despite everything they went through, the pups opened their hearts to love. They started displaying their playful and affectionate disposition.
Mikey’s Chance Canine Rescue, located in West Richland, Washington, took them under their care.
The three doggos are looking for a long-term foster home or wonderful humans who will promise to love them forever.
I hope that these canines will find their happily ever after. They deserve to know that they will never be abandoned again.
Thank you to the incredible humans who gave the pups a second chance at life and filled their hearts with hope for a better future.
