It’s The Sweetest Thing
Lauren Wagner, Toby’s owner, is probably one of the happiest dog momma’s ever, and she has the sweetest reason.
Every single morning, Toby wakes up before her and waits at the exact same place by the stairs for her to climb up.
“Every morning my 16-year-old dog (partially blind and deaf) patiently waits by the stairs for me, and this is his reaction when he finally sees me,” Lauren wrote in a video she posted on her TikTok.
The heartwarming video that took the entire internet by storm showcases Toby in total delight when he finally sees his momma.
Before he notices her, Toby paces in small circles, anticipating her imminent arrival. You could just tell how impatient he is before they finally reunite.
The moment he actually sees her, he immediately turns into his “cuddle bug mode”. He starts wagging his tail, smiling, and just dancing around Lauren out of pure happiness!
Despite his age, Toby transforms into the most enthusiastic puppy every single morning, and Lauren is totally in love with it!
Toby, A Lifelong Companion In Good Times And Bad
Toby’s little morning rituals are not the only thing he’s great at.
Much more than that – he’s a lifelong companion every owner would be happy to have by their side. And, that’s what Lauren appreciates the most about having Toby in her life.
Several years ago, Lauren was diagnosed with a spinal tumor, which changed her life completely. During what could only be called the worst of times, Toby stood by her side every step of the way.
He had been an amazing support in Lauren’s spinal surgery recovery process. He visited her at the hospital and provided comfort whenever she needed it.
It is safe to say that Toby was one of the few bright spots that helped Lauren push forward every single day.
“He saved my life. He knows I’m recovering from a spinal tumor. Little does he know, he’s helped me get through my darkest days,” Lauren wrote on TikTok.
He’s a natural therapist. A lover. A caregiver. And, most of all, he’s Lauren’s best bud in the world. Even though he’s far from his prime, Toby has never shown signs of slowing down when it comes to providing his favorite hooman with love.
He’s always there in good times and in bad, and Lauren couldn’t be happier to share life with him!
