I can never understand people who abandon dogs on the street without any way to survive. What’s even worse is people who dump pregnant dogs.
They are not just condemning one life, but many more, and that is really a horrible thing to do. I mean, who knows what can happen to the poor puppies after they are born.
Street life is tragic and they don’t have many ways to get food. The same thing happened to this pregnant pup who was abandoned by her owner.
He just tied her to a fence and left. She felt heartbroken, but there wasn’t anything she could do. Luckily, a woman noticed the whole thing unfolding and called for rescuers immediately.
The Rescuers Have Arrived
When a rescuer arrived on the scene, she saw this soon-to-be mama dog and was horrified that somebody would leave her like this.
She approached her and noticed that she was very sweet. The pup willingly entered her rescuer’s car and started looking around.
It looked like she was still hoping her owner would come back for her, but that was not going to happen. She seemed depressed, but her rescuer would try and change that.
Before they even went to the veterinarian clinic, she took her for a walk because she wanted her to feel safe and comfortable around her rescuer.
The woman noticed how skinny she was despite being pregnant. It’s almost certain that she was completely neglected by her owner.
After a nice walk, she finally went to see her vet. He told the rescuer that she had quite a few medical problems, but they were going to take care of it.
Big Surprise For The Veterinarians
The very next morning, everyone was surprised to see that she had given birth to 12 puppies. Now, that is a very big litter.
The sweet mama dog was very exhausted but still had to care for her babies. Luckily, her vets were there to help her every step of the way.
The vets knew that they couldn’t treat her medical problems just yet. She had anemia, a weakened immune system, diarrhea, and parasites.
This would require antibiotics, which can be very taxing on her body, so they decided to wait for a while. They focused their attention on helping one of the puppies who was struggling.
They did their best to help feed him, but he was still smaller than his siblings. His treatment would take a while.
As for the mother, she was able to gather some of her strength, and it was now time for this sweet dog to start her treatment.
She is eating a lot more now and her mood has improved significantly. The rescuers are still helping to care for the small puppies, and they are all growing up fast, even the smallest pup.
Start Of A New Adventure
Soon enough, the mama dog recovered almost completely and was finally out of the woods. The puppies also changed so much in a short period of time.
They were becoming more adorable every day. The mama, now named Yuly, is so much happier with her rescuers now. She is completely unrecognizable.
Now that every puppy has grown up and their mother is finally safe, the rescuers placed them on an adoption list.
Yuly and her babies were all adopted one by one and they are now spending quality time with their new families. Their rescuers and the vets are so proud of them.
This mama dog went from being abandoned and depressed to starting her life over with someone special, and I am so happy for her and the puppies.
