It was a very ordinary day for Heather Tolaro when her friend called her to say that she found a stray dog near her home in Illinois.
She told her that the pup had a rope tied around its neck. Because of her allergy to dogs, she couldn’t keep her, so she asked Heather to take her in until they found out more about her.
Right after she heard that news, she went to meet her friend and this sweet pup at her house to see if she could help her.
Bella Star’s Sad Story
After Heather and her daughter went to meet the adorable pooch, she was surprised to see just how cheerful she was.
She immediately warmed up to them, and it was at that moment that Heather realized something had to be done to help her.
Naturally, she wanted to address the biggest problem, which was the rope around the dog’s neck. They suspected she had an owner before.
So, they started searching to see if anyone was looking for a dog. She told Newsweek: “We contacted shelters, the police, animal control, and I’ve posted her picture on lost dog pages on community pages.”
The search went all the way around Illinois. She even checked to see if the pup had a microchip, but the search yielded no results.
A few days later, Heather’s mother-in-law saw a video of a dog being thrown out of a car, and she was shocked. She suspected it was this dog.
After learning about what she had been through, she decided to keep the dog, now named Bella Star, and give her a new home.
She said: “It’s weird, and I don’t really understand it, but it’s as if we’ve had for her entire life. She is fully trained; she sleeps in the bed with us; she gets excited for car rides, excited for walks. I don’t understand.”
Internet’s Reaction To The News
Heather posted Bella Star’s story on the internet and it shocked her to see the huge response she got on TikTok. A lot of people were curious about her story.
One person commented: “She loves you, you are the chosen one, something bad happened at her last house.”
From their first interaction, Bella Star feels safe and comfortable in Heather’s care, and I am glad that they have found each other.
Another person said: “My pitbull mix does not like men and I think it’s because she was in a fighting ring and either got out or was let go as a puppy.”
That is certainly an interesting theory and it would explain why she felt so safe around Heather. It’s possible that she escaped an abusive life.
Lastly, somebody commented: “American bully babies are the most cuddly babies.”
Well, judging by how tightly she hugged Heather in the video, I am not surprised that this is true. She really is just the sweetest dog.
Judging by everything that has happened to Bella Star, I have to say that I am happy her story has a happy ending.
Even though it’s hard to determine what happened to her, I have no doubt that her wounds will heal with her new amazing family. She deserves all the best.
