Every shelter dog longs to find humans who will hug them tightly and promise to never give up on them.
Norman, a sorrowful shelter canine, had the same wish after his previous owner surrendered him to a shelter.
Pets Stop Here, Inc., a volunteer organization that saves unwanted and neglected animals in Rochester, New York, took the pup under their care.
Norman was frightened of everything. He hoped to find a family who would believe in him and show him that he, too, deserved to be loved.
Unfortunately, Norman was overlooked time and time again possibly due to his anxiety and allergies. The sad dog started wondering whether he would ever get his happy ending.
A Great Family Notices Norman
Just when Norman began losing hope of being noticed, a kind-hearted girl saw him and fell in love with him.
The girl’s family decided to foster the canine with the intention of adopting him.
When Norman moved in with them, he wasn’t aware that his life was about to change. The canine was still detached and sad. He needed some time to settle in his home in New York.
The good humans worked patiently with him and showered him with love and encouragement.
Norman began feeling loved.
After spending a week with the pup, the family realized that Norman belonged with them.
They started collecting the dog’s things in order to return them back to his foster.
When Norman noticed that his mom was taking his crate down, he thought that he was being surrendered to shelter again.
“He saw me take down the rescues crate and put with things he came with, and HE HID in our spare room he NEVER goes in, then pouted in his bed… does he think I’m sending him back like everyone else??💔,” Norman’s mom wrote on Instagram.
She cuddled the pup, trying to convince him that he would stay with them forever.
Norman Finds A Best Friend
The canine, who was still battling his fears that were holding him down, found a best friend in Maggie, his family’s senior dog.
“He was very scared, but he loved Maggie… With her, he was very calm,” the dog’s forever mom told GeoBeats Animals.
The two pups spent a lot of time together, cuddling and comforting each other. Norman wanted to be with her all the time.
When Maggie had surgery, Norman was by her side, giving her support and all his love.
“She had a surgery where she was living in one room for a month and he was like right next to her every second. She was his best friend,” Norman’s mom added.
Building A Stronger Bond With His Mom
Sadly, Maggie crossed the rainbow bridge. She was fifteen years old.
Norman was having a hard time coping with the loss of his best friend. His heartbroken mom understood how he felt.
She knew that both she and Norman needed to spend more time together in order to cope with Maggie’s passing.
Since the doggo didn’t like spending time outdoors and walking around, his forever mom started taking him on weekly car rides.
The pup enjoyed it.
Spending great time with his mom made their bond stronger. Norman began feeling better.
Norman often posts about his everyday life on his Instagram account.
The pooch loves napping next to his mom and snuggling with his family. Their arms are his safe haven.
I’m glad that Norman has such an amazing family who loves him unconditionally.
