In the last few years, the number of dogs in shelters has reached an all-time high. As a result, the shelter environment has become unstable for dogs rescued from various harrowing conditions.
Due to overcrowding, shelters are being forced to euthanize hundreds of dogs before they even get a chance at a new life.
Echo, Rosie, and Timber, the three Huskies rescued from a field in California, were facing the same scenario. Scheduled for euthanasia, these three terrified pups had lost all hope.
Then, a miracle happened!
Found Huddled Together
Even though their history remains vague and unclear, when these three dogs were brought to Stanislaus Shelter Friends in Modesto, California, they were absolutely terrified of everything.
All they knew was their small kennel and each other. In a way, it was as if they almost knew that they were about to be euthanized in just a few days.
“Rosie, Timber, and Echo were found as strays in a field when they were brought into the shelter. We aren’t sure the past these 3 had, but one thing is certain they are extremely broken and terrified,” AAR wrote on Instagram.
Among them, Rosie struggled the most with the shelter environment.
“Rosie was basically trying to melt into the floor, absolutely petrified of the shelter staff,” the rescue added.
That was until Emily, the founder of Atlas Animal Rescue, based in Paso Robles, California, saw the harrowing footage of these three Husky siblings. As soon as she learned that the dogs were facing the inevitable, she rushed into action.

All three dogs were saved just hours before euthanasia.
Instead of merely changing their environment and prolonging their misery, the dogs received so much more!
Thanks to Emily’s partners, the dog trainers at Tired Tails and Cheri Wulff Lucas, Echo, Rosie, and Timber headed off to a brand-new beginning! All of them were taken to foster homes, where their transformative journey took an unexpected turn.
In just a few short weeks, these three furry babies found a glimmer of hope and learned how to trust again. What once was their broken spirit is now a colorful personality filled with an eagerness to chase new adventures every day!
New Beginning
Thanks to Claire at Tired Tails, Echo, one of the pups, found a forever home after less than a month in foster care.
This wonderful news, announced by his rescuers, made everyone that had ever met Echo so happy!

He found a place with an amazing family who couldn’t be happier to have him around.
“They are such an amazing family that absolutely ADORE him as much as we all have right from the start! He gets to go on adventures, beach days, he’s currently on a road trip to the east coast with his family as we speak,” AAR wrote on Instagram.
Echo is currently exploring new things and enjoying his new life far away from what once was a kennel. He’s way past his trauma and loves being around people and his other doggo siblings.
Rosie and Timber are still waiting for the right opportunity.
They are currently with the rescue, hoping that one day, someone kind enough will offer them a chance to prove their amazing companionship qualities.
The good news is that they’re not losing hope. When the time is right, I am absolutely positive that both of these transformed pups will embark upon their new life journey with smiles on their faces!
