Saving stray dogs’ lives is a challenge. Most of the time, it requires a lot of patience and dedication, especially given that plenty of these four-legged furballs are not easy to catch.
Driven by fear and trauma from life on the streets, it takes time for stray dogs to start trusting people. And, as a result, they are often reluctant to establish first contact.
When the kind rescuer of Paw Squadron got a call about a two-month-old puppy roaming the streets after a big storm in a distant area, he immediately rushed into action. Little did he know that the mission itself would be a real challenge.
He searched high and low for hours until, finally, he saw a tiny ball of fur moving in a nearby tunnel…
He Was Trembling With Fear
The rescuer immediately pulled over and rushed to pick up the puppy from the tunnel. As he tried to approach him, the canine kept running away in fear.
He was extremely scared and traumatized. He cried loudly in despair, not knowing what to expect from the unknown hooman.
Then, he felt the first gentle pat on the head, ever. And then the second one. And one more after that… until, eventually, he calmed down. What a rewarding moment!
After the man made sure the puppy was calm, he gently scooped him up and brought him to the car. He could feel that this little boi was still shivering, but the fact that he no longer cried was enough.
Deep down, the pup knew that the man was there to help. He just needed some time to come out of his shell – and start trusting again.
In the car, he got some wet food and water, but all he really wanted was to sleep. He looked so exhausted after the rainstorm, with his fur being all covered in mud and dirt.
It was hard to tell what he had been through, but just seeing him in such a condition was an indication that he had a rough couple of days.
Here Comes A Nice, Cozy Home
After a long drive back home, the puppy had a warm welcome inside his temporary foster home. He got a nice, long bath, which, by the look on his face captured in the YouTube video by the rescue, he enjoyed so much!
Then came a real surprise!
Underneath all that dirt and mud surfaced a brand-new boi. He had a wonderful, shiny coat that made him look fabulous! He was a real charmer. A tiny little star. And he didn’t even try hard!
When he finally got his old look back, the man prepared him a nice meal – this time, a combination of wet and dry food. Unlike the one in the car, he welcomed this portion with so much enthusiasm.
He ate it with a gentle smile on his face, showing gratitude for all the man did for him. At this point, the puppy was already so relaxed and felt at home.
In fact, as soon as he was introduced to his very first and very own doggo bed, he immediately jumped in and made himself as comfy as possible.
Only a few moments later, he fell asleep in the cutest position ever, with his paws hanging from the edge of the bed. Yup, he was that comfortable!
It’s A Pawesome Life, And He Gets To See It Now
The next morning was reserved for the pup’s first vet checkup. Even though he seemed fine, the man wanted to make sure he didn’t have any hidden issues. And he was right! Other than being found dirty and hungry, he was one healthy boi, ready to take on many exciting adventures!
The rescuer couldn’t be more grateful for this exciting news. Right after the checkup, he took the pup to the park as a little reward, wanting to give him a little preview of what the future holds.
For the first time in his life, the pup felt free in a spacious, green yard. He really enjoyed every minute there, soaking up the beauty and life around him.
It didn’t take him long to meet some furriends, either! Turns out, he had that energetic, innocent puppy enthusiasm in him – he just needed to rediscover it. And, now that he did, nothing could ever stop him from being pawesome anymore!
From that day forward, he will only experience love, playtime, and an abundance of joy. All he really needs now is the right person and I have a feeling that his soulmate is just around the corner!
