Typically, a dog’s best friend is their owner, and very few things can compare to that amount of love.
However, for Frannie, a three-year-old Chihuahua, that best friend is her mailman!
The two recently made headlines all over the world with their sweet and unique friendship that has lasted since Frannie’s early puppyhood. For some reason, Frannie is madly in love with mailman, Dan Larsen, and their bond is well-known throughout Illinois – and beyond!
Friends Since 2021
Larsen and Frannie’s first meeting occurred in October 2021 and was completely unexpected.
Frannie’s owner, Lisa Laskey, had randomly gone out to pick up her daily mail with her Chihuahua when the sweetest thing happened.
“I had Frannie in my hand and I walked out to get my mail from my postman who I didn’t really know and I was trying to be nice, I was like: ‘Hey, would you like to meet my newest member of the family,’ and he’s like: ‘Sure’,” Laskey told NewsNation.

In the very next moment, Frannie started licking Larsen’s face and giving him the sweetest cuddles. It was as if she had known him for years!
“I handed her to him and she started kissing his face and pawing at his face, like she knew him for years,” Laskey added.
Ever since that moment, Frannie and her mailman have been inseparable. Their meetups have been regularly recorded by Laskey, who has since gained millions of views on her social media!
In August 2024, the two celebrated their 500th-meeting milestone and they are still going strong.
Every Day Seems Like The First Time
For things to be even sweeter, Frannie always displays the same level of enthusiasm when meeting Dan. She practically behaves as if she is seeing him for the very first time, which makes their relationship so special.
Every day, she patiently waits by the door until she sees Dan’s truck approaching the yard. When he finally opens the door and steps out, that’s when she does her little run!
“She just runs in a straight line to my truck,” Larsen told NewsNation.
Lisa couldn’t be happier about Frannie and Dan’s special bond. But what brings her even more joy is the fact that their relationship brings smiles to people’s faces on a daily basis.
She happily shares Dan and Frannie’s moments with her followers, not wanting to keep this amazing footage just to herself.
“We were given this precious thing and I thought, there’s just no way to keep her to ourselves, so the best thing to do is to share her with whoever wants to take a look at her and enjoy the love,” says Laskey.
Today, Frannie and Dan’s relationship symbolizes love not only in Illinois but everywhere. The two even had their very own ‘FranDan Day’ declared by the Mayor and were gifted a key to the city.
