Losing your furry friend is one of the hardest things a hooman can go through.
You no longer have anybody to greet you at the door, there isn’t anybody waking you up from your naps, or anybody to go on walks with. You simply no longer have your best friend around.
And, Nanette knows a little too much about this feeling. After losing two of her senior dogs, she was completely heartbroken, but when she heard about a little pup who was facing euthanasia, Nanette decided to put her emotions to the side and extend a helping hand.
Honoring A Memory
As soon as she met the pup, now named Ralphie, she noticed that he was a bit taller than her late fur baby, Stan. He also had a cute micro eye, making him extremely unique.
However, Nanette also noticed that Ralphie had an issue with his back and he needed to go to the dentist to get his teeth removed. But, none of this mattered to Nanette. All she wanted was to provide this sweet guy with as much love and care as he needed.
Little did she know this wasn’t going to be so easy.
“You could tell by the way he presented himself that he was abused. It’s almost like he liked us, but he didn’t know what to do with us. He would shy away. And if you’d reach your hand out to pet him, sometimes he would fall right over,” Nanette told GeoBeats.
Nanette wasn’t really sure if he did this because he was scared that he was going to be hit or if it was because he wasn’t used to being touched. Even though they are still trying to figure out this pup, his new family absolutely adores him.
A Voice Of An Angel
One time, while hanging out with some friends, Nanette decided to bring Ralphie along. Seeing all the new faces, this sweet boy decided that he wanted to get some attention, so he started singing.

“Oh, he has a gorgeous singing voice,” she stated.
Ever since, Nanette has had one question on her mind – what language does Ralphie speak? He has absolutely no reactions to words such as treat, ride, or walk, but he still notices every time a pancake arrives or a dog walks by.
One thing is for sure: this is Ralphie’s world, and we are just living in it.
Nanette and her husband are doing everything they can to help Ralphie break out of his shell and start living the life he truly deserves.
And, even though Ralphie isn’t a big fan of Nanette’s husband, he is still being extremely patient and caring with him.
I am sure that with some more time and a lot of love, Ralphie will not only become the greatest singing dog ever, but he will also learn that the world is full of kind and loving people.
Good luck, Ralphie!
