A true dog lover can’t help but shed a tear when he sees how many dogs are left on the street to fend for themselves. Although they have roofs over their heads and someone to feed them and take care of them, it is hard to see our furry friends behind the bars of a kennel as well.
Just as man is a social being and needs to be with someone, it is natural for a dog to have his favorite human who will hug him every day and show him love. Sadly, he can rarely find that in a shelter.
One dog from Mokena, Illinois, felt all the pain of loneliness in a shelter and being ignored by people. This poor thing has been behind bars for more than 500 days, and if she didn’t have her favorite toys in which she found comfort, she would have a hard time enduring all this.
“Tired Of Waiting”
When the Pit Bull Terrier named Priscilla came to the National Animal Welfare Society (NAWS) in Mokena, Illinois, she was extremely emaciated and generally in a bad state.
After the employees did everything for her to recover and feel better, they hoped that she would soon have a happy ending. Unfortunately, days passed, but Priscilla was still lying in that dark and cold kennel, ignored by every potential adopter.
After more than a year, sad and frustrated shelter employees decided to react. On August 8, TikTok user, @frangrzesik, who’s affiliated with NAWS, posted a video that features Priscilla’s sad life story.

It begins with a poster on her kennel, which states that Priscilla has been in the shelter for 506 days and that she needs a home, not just a place.
However, after a brief introduction, they also touched on one bright spot of her stay at NAWS. They explained what helped this dog the most to “survive” her toughest days.
“Her favorite thing on the entire planet are her stuffy toys. Which we love to spoil her with, but…” they wrote, but that was not the end of the sentence.
“She is tired of waiting.” they wrote in the end in the hope that someone would open their heart to this poor girl and give her the life she deserves.
“Please spread the word that Priscilla is looking for her forever family. She deserves this.” it was stated in the caption of the video.
Many Hearts Cry
This heartbreaking video attracted a lot of attention among TikTok users. There were many reactions and most people “wept” over the sad fate of this poor dog.
Among numerous comments, we decided to highlight some of them.
“i’m quite literally sobbing,” one user wrote.
“Boosting boosting for this sweet angel girl ❤️” another added.
And the third quipped: “So precious with the toy in her mouth ❤️”
The poster said that Priscilla “likes other dogs as long as they are calm,” adding that she had some problems with highly energetic dogs in the past.
According to the NAWS website page, she is “Friendly, Gentle, Quiet, Playful, Affectionate, Loyal, Protective, Independent, Loves Kisses, Couch Potato,” as well as good in a home with “Other dogs, cats, children.”
We sincerely hope that this viral reaction will help Priscilla meet her happiest ending because this amazing dog and true toy lover deserves nothing less.
