The street is no place for a sweet, innocent animal.
Where will I hide? What will I eat today? Will anybody notice my pain and offer me a helping hand?
The questions running through their minds are numerous, and not a single one is positive. However, each and every one of them wants the same exact thing – to be a part of a loving family.
Unfortunately, the stray pup you are about to meet had it a bit harder. Not only was she forced to do everything in order to survive, but she also did it with a very severe injury. One of her legs was broken.
Things Are About To Change
When the stray pup was discovered by some animal rescuers, she was trying to get some rest in a busy parking lot. She laid her head on the curb, fighting off the immense pain and trying to forget about her life for a single moment.
Knowing that something was wrong, the hoomans contacted Suzette Hall, founder of Logan’s Legacy, a rescue organization based in Irvine, California.
Since she had so many rescues under her belt, they knew that she would know exactly what to do with this sweet girl.
As soon as Hall arrived, she instructed the hoomans to go behind the pup so that they would be able to catch her if she decided to make a run for it toward the street. Hall then slowly approached the pup and started communicating with her.
She would tell her what a good girl she was and that she was only there to help. After some sweet talk and reassurance, Hall found herself face to face with the pup, allowing her to carefully slip a leash around the pup’s head.
Luckily, the pup was super sweet and cooperative. Hall immediately took her to the vet’s office so that they could tend to her wounds. In the meantime, the rescuers decided to do some investigating, hoping to find the pup’s previous owners.
Together Again
After some time digging around missing dog reports, Hall found a little pup named Maisie who looked exactly like the pup she had rescued.
After contacting the hooman, she found out that it actually was Maisie!
Maisie’s owner made her way to the vet, where she was finally reunited with her sweet girl after she was missing for six whole days.
Even though Maisie wasn’t able to recognize her mommy due to all the shock and trauma she went through, a good sniff was all she needed to figure out who she really was.
The pup was so happy to be reunited with her hooman that she began wagging her tail uncontrollably, showering her mama with neverending kisses.
Witnessing this heartwarming scene, the Californian rescuer was reminded yet again why her job is so important.
