Adjusting to a life of uncertainty is probably one of the hardest things to do. You don’t know where your next meal will come from or where a safe place to sleep will be.
Thousands of dogs face these circumstances on a daily basis. Only a lucky few find a way out, while others struggle to survive, hoping for a chance to fight another day.
One such case comes from Southern California, where a momma dog was forced to deliver her babies on the street. Abandoned, starving, and all alone in this world, she was absolutely terrified of everything coming her way.
Found At The Perfect Time
When Suzette Hall, the founder of Logan’s Legacy, from Irvine, California, received a call about the abandoned dog family, she immediately rushed into action.
“Dumped and then had to have her babies all alone. They were literally just born this morning,” Hall wrote in a Facebook post.
Together with her team of kind-hearted rescuers, Hall managed to track down the dog. However, the rescue itself wasn’t a picnic.
The momma was extremely scared. She instantly ran away in the field, leaving her seven newborn puppies for the rescuers to save them.
The good thing was – she didn’t go too far. The momma was always close enough to have an eye on her babies, showing how caring and worried she was.
Hall and the team didn’t want to leave the yard without her, so they decided to use another strategy. They set up a humane trap filled with delicious food and waited.
Eventually, the mom dog went in, and the whole family was reunited once again!
Despite still being scared, the momma was more than happy to be with her babies. It was truly rewarding seeing her snuggle up to the pups with her heart filled with nothing but joy.
“We quickly got her puppies back to her and she just snuggled up to them. She just wanted her little family who she had in a strange yard all alone. It made us all tear up,” Hall added.
Safe In A Foster Home
After the initial examination, the entire family was successfully transported to a foster home.
It took the mom dog some time, but she eventually warmed up to the kind humans and revealed her true colors!
“When I got her to her foster, she knew she was safe . She let me love her and help her learn to nurse. And then she just cuddled up to her little puppies,” Hall wrote.
After all the hardship, this canine family was finally safe. They now had a roof over their heads and didn’t have to worry about finding food, ever again.
Most importantly, they had each other – now in a loving home next to the people who cared for them.
When the time is right, all of these furballs will be looking for a forever home… hopefully, one filled with joy and endless adventures like they deserve!
