Shelter dogs’ hearts are filled with hope that one day, their humans will find them and promise to love them forever.
Zare, an adorable shelter dog, dreamed of meeting his humans and feeling their infinite love.
Upon arriving at Livingston County Humane Society, located in Pontiac, Illinois, Zare delighted the staff with his affectionate and sweet personality.
His new friends were convinced that the loving canine would soon find his happily ever after.
Waiting For A Chance
The wonderful staff showered Zare with love, and he reciprocated by planting endless kisses on their faces.
The canine became an absolute favorite among the staffers.
Although Zare received so much love from his human friends, he still felt that something was missing.
The pup longed to have humans who would give him the unconditional love that only parents could give.
Zare spent his days in his kennel, eagerly waiting for his new family to show up around the corner, pick him out of the crowd, and take him home.
In April of 2024, the doggo thought that his greatest wish would finally be granted after a family promised to adopt him.
Zare’s friends knew they would terribly miss the delightful pooch, but they were very happy because he had found a home.
The Pup Experiences A Disappointment
On the pickup day, Zare couldn’t wait to see his family entering the shelter. He wanted to run into their arms and kiss them.
The pup kept waiting for them, but sadly, his adopters never showed up.
The staffers felt sad for their precious boi. They comforted him with hugs and took him back to his kennel.
Feeling disappointed, Zare lied on the floor and bent his head, trying to hide the sadness in his eyes.
The Illinois shelter recorded a video of the heartbroken pup and posted it on their TikTok account.
“POV: you thought you were getting adopted last week but your family never showed up for you,” the caption in the video read.
Hoping To Find Loving Parents
Thanks to his loving human friends and their unwavering support, Zare got over the heartbreak he endured.
Despite being the shelter’s second-longest resident, the pooch didn’t give up on his dream of finding his place under the sun.
Zare’s friends hope that their sweet boi will soon meet his humans and give them all his love.
“He is the SWEETEST boy and would be so happy to give someone endless hugs and kisses. His ideal family would be someone who would take him out to run for a little bit, but he loves cuddling up with his person just as much,” the spokesperson for the shelter told Newsweek.
The adorable canine just needs someone to give him a chance.
