Adorable Senior Dog Leaves Other Pups In The Dust When She Zooms By Them In Her Wheelchair

Life truly is unpredictable.

A single event could turn your whole life around, and it may not always be for the better. In such situations, the most important thing is the way we handle it.

When a pup named Scooty was involved in a car accident when she was just a little girl, she was never the same. She completely lost her mobility in her back legs, leaving her disabled.

Many were unsure what her life was going to look like after the accident, but Scooty was not about to let it get in the way of her happiness.

Scooty’s mom, Erica Loring, refused to give up on her pup so she began searching for ways to make her life as comfortable as possible.

“I didn’t know what a lifespan would look like for a dog with disabilities,” Loring told The Dodo.

She knew that getting a wheelchair for Scooty would allow the pup to still have an active life, but Loring was unsure how she would feel about it.

However, as soon as Scooty got settled into her new wheels, she proved to her mom that she had nothing to worry about.

“She didn’t even give me a second to step back and take a picture. She was flying in her wheelchair from minute one,” she added.

Ever since getting her wheels, Scooty has been a hard pup to catch.

She would scoot around the neighborhood as if she were the next Flash, leaving nothing but tire tracks behind. However, she doesn’t need her wheelchair to be fast.

When they were at the park, Loring would take her off her wheels and let her run around with the furry friends, and boy can this girl run!

A True Inspiration

Scooty took the world by storm and became an inspiration to both pups and hoomans.

“She doesn’t have a care in the world and she can just run to her heart’s content. Here we are, 12 years later, and she is still zooming down the beach,” Loring said.

According to Gulf Coast K9, special needs dogs will wait in shelters up to four times longer than an able dog to be adopted.

And since Loring adopted Scooty after her accident, she wanted to let people know that there is nothing to be afraid of. And what better way to do so than by a story!

Loring created a picture book showcasing her life with her sweet girl. Spoiler alert: it is adorable!

Finding out about Scooty and her inspiring life made my heart burst with joy.

Not only does she prove that you can overcome every obstacle life throws at you, but she also shows that dogs with disabilities can also be fun and energetic.

You just need to give them a chance!
