After being dumped, the canines’ lives suddenly change. Instead of being pampered with care in a loving home, the dogs start fighting for mere survival on the uncertain streets.
A sweet little dog named Daffy used to have a home once, but sadly, her owners dumped her without feeling any compassion toward her.
Feeling lonely and betrayed, Daffy dragged her paws around the California neighborhood, hoping to find some leftovers in order to satisfy her hunger.
Although her owners let her down, Daffy still believed that good humans exist and she had a lot of love to give.
A Kind Human Calls For Help
A man named Anthony Meija noticed the confused pup as she wandered around his neighborhood.
Meija asked his neighbors whether they knew the doggo, but unfortunately, nobody could give him any information about her.
The good human decided to try to capture her.
Knowing that Daffy must be hungry, he offered her food. The exhausted pup couldn’t resist and she entered the man’s yard.
After luring her in, Meija closed the gate.
The pup curled up in the corner of the yard. She didn’t know whether she could trust anyone.
The kind man contacted the California animal rescue, Hope For Paws, asking for help, and Katie McKittrick headed to the address to rescue the dog.
As soon as she reached Meija’s house, McKittrick saw the pooch standing in the corner of the yard.
Gaining Daffy’s Trust
The giant-hearted rescuer knew that the pup was frightened. She began talking to her in a soft tone.
After Daffy heard McKittrick, she ran out of her hiding place and looked in her direction with a curious expression on her face.
McKittrick approached the pooch and gave her a snack, trying to gain her trust.
At first, the pup would grab the food and retreat to the corner.
However, she gradually began realizing that McKittrick was trying to help her, and she started letting her guard down.
When the pup let the rescuer caress her, McKittrick used the opportunity to secure Daffy with a Lucky Leash.
She took the canine in her arms and carried her to the car. Daffy’s eyes started twinkling with hope. The pup felt secure.
A New Beginning
McKittrick drove her to C.A.R.E.S. (California Animal Rescue Emergency Service), where the pooch received a medical examination.
After the dog’s hero gave Daffy a bath, the pup became relaxed and cheerful.
Daffy loved spending time outdoors with McKittrick.
The pooch ran in the yard with a wide smile on her face. She was bursting with energy.
The canine appreciated her rescuer’s help and care. Daffy looked at her with love-filled eyes and used every opportunity to plant sweet little kisses on her hero’s face.
LA Animal Rescue offered to take Daffy in. They are committed to fostering her and finding her the forever home of her dreams.
