Walking down the street, a devoted animal rescuer saw something that broke his heart in a million little pieces.
A little puppy was tied to a trash can, crying his little heart out, begging for somebody to save him.
The rescuer immediately ran to the store to get him some yummy food so that he could gain his trust and take him somewhere safe.
And as soon as this sweet boy smelled the delicious food, he ate it all in one big bite, filling up not only his belly but his heart, too.
After allowing the rescuer to come near him and untie him, the pair made their way to the rescuer’s house, where they would begin his new life.
Finally Safe
Knowing that he probably hadn’t eaten for days, the rescuer decided to give the pup yet another meal as soon as they entered his house. And it was a good thing he did because the puppy, yet again, ate the whole thing without leaving any crumbs behind.
But what completely saddened the rescuer was the fact that the puppy kept on looking back at him whenever he took a bite, fearing that he might take it away.
Having a full belly sure did make the pup feel so much better. But he still wasn’t too comfortable to be around all these unfamiliar faces as well as the surroundings, so he decided to go and hide under a bed!
The rescuer took this as the perfect opportunity to try and play with the pup, hoping to finally gain his trust completely.
And it worked!
Little by little, the pup felt much more comfortable with his new hooman! The rescuer spent the rest of the day bonding with the little pup, making him aware that nothing would hurt him ever again.
The hooman took the pup to the vet the very next day and was relieved to find that the pup had no broken bones.
However, he did have some deformities that happened in his early puppyhood, probably due to the lack of nutrition in his food. The vets also discovered that he had an ear infection that had to be taken care of as soon as possible.
Because his fur was completely covered in ticks and fleas, the vets decided it would be for the best if they gave him a little haircut and sent him on his way back home with all of the necessary medication.
Road To Recovery
His rescuer ensured he had everything necessary to make his recovery as speedy and comfortable as possible.
Naming him Arki, the pup was finally ready to begin his new life.
After seeing all the lengths his new hooman was willing to go to ensure his happiness and health, Arki finally knew what it felt like to be loved!
He became a permanent member of his new family who ensured that every day was filled with fun, love, and adventures.
