A man was riding his bike to work one morning when he saw unusual movement on the road. When he got a little closer, he immediately stopped in his tracks.
It was a dog, completely helpless and motionless, without enough strength to escape the passing cars. The sight shocked the man to the bone, and he immediately came to this poor pup’s aid. As he was all alone and without a car, all he could do was move her off the road.
Then, he called the rescue team…
She Was On The Edge
A long-time dog lover and rescuer, Galina, responded to the man’s call with her colleague. Even though they were a couple of hours late, when they arrived at the said scene, the dog was still there.
She was lying completely defenseless and in pain. She could barely lift her head up and make any sort of movement, but her eyes sparked as soon as she saw hoomans approach.
She seemed so grateful and happy that someone, at last, showed her some compassion. It was as if she knew that from now on, she wouldn’t have to worry about surviving in the middle of nowhere.
The next moment, the dog, later called Yasmin, did the most amazing thing!
She gathered all of her remaining strength and crawled to the rescuers’ car, showing how much she wanted to be helped. She was truly desperate! And she couldn’t stop crying. But she never gave up!
Galina and her colleague didn’t want Yasmin to suffer anymore, so they loaded her into the back of their car and drove off to the nearest vet clinic.
When they finally arrived, Yasmin had a long, thorough checkup and underwent many tests. Sadly, the results were heartbreaking…
Yasmin’s Condition Was Far More Serious Than They Thought
The results showed that this stray girl wasn’t just emaciated and neglected. Yasmin’s body temperature was below normal, and she had inflammation of the mammary glands. But that wasn’t even the worst part.
Yasmin had a broken spine that disabled her from moving properly. Her injury was so bad that no surgery could help her use her hind legs ever again.
Galina was so devastated when she received the news. The fact that Yasmin faced the harsh truth hurt so much, but even in the worst of times, she was inclined to help this resilient girl!
Thanks to a giant-hearted community with whom Galina shared Yasmin’s story, this brave dog was sent to further rehabilitation.
It won’t be an easy road and will surely have lots of ups and downs, but neither Galina nor Yasmin intend to give up! They’re both fighters who will do everything in their power to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
And when the time comes, I strongly believe that Yasmin will find a suitable home and owners who will appreciate her for who she is. She sure is a sweetheart and a lover!
